The Files and Directories

The Skillsoft Learning Object Template (LOT) files and related folders are located in the LOTemplate\Template directory. A diagram of the directory structure is shown below.

The following list provides an overview of the filenames and functions of each template page. The pages were created using Dreamweaver and modified by Skillsoft.

index.html: a frameset that contains the learning object content pages (blank.html initially) and navigation pages (bottom.html)
navigate.html: a page that contains the navigation buttons
formholder.html: a page that acts as a repository for accumulated student progress results
bottom.html: a frameset that contains navigate.html and formholder.html to create the navigation bar of the learning object
contents.html: a splash page and table of contents for the learning object
page_xx.html: a template for the conceptual materials in the learning object; essentially any page with no tracked CourseBuilder interactions. (The term xx in the filename is replaced with the actual page number, for example page_01.html.)
test_xx.html: template for the pages that contain tracked CourseBuilder interactions. You should include only one interaction per test page. (The term xx in the filename is replaced with the actual test page number, for example test_01.html.)
summary-frameset.html: frameset that contains the summary page and a hidden results page (results.html)
summary.html: this page displays student progress and cumulative results of the test pages to the student and sends the results back to SkillPort
smtfstyle.css: a style sheet that governs the font style of the template pages. Several folders are also included in the LOTemplate\Template directory. These are described in the table below.

Directory Name	Purpose
images	Contains images used by the learning object. Any additional images needed for your content can be placed in this folder.
scripts	Contains JavaScript files used by Dreamweaver and CourseBuilder.
sfimages	Contains images used to create the navigation buttons.
sfscripts	Contains JavaScript files created by SkillSoft. These files add functionality to the template pages. LOSettings.js: contains data that you must define. This is described in detail in the “The LOSettings.js file” section. navigate.js: code that handles learning object navigation testques.js: code that tracks test scores api_comm.js: code that communicates with the API api_dummy.js: a dummy API that can be used to facilitate testing
