Viewing your Learning Object in the Skillport Custom Content Player Frameset
As mentioned in the introduction, Skillsoft has introduced a new courseware architecture for its training content. When your learning object is deployed on Skillport, it will appear within this new-architecture frameset.
A sample Skillport Custom Content Player frameset is provided with the template files to give you an impression of how your learning object will finally look. Do not edit these frameset files, however, as they are for demonstration purposes only and do not form part of the learning object.
- The Skillport Custom Content Player frameset does not form part of your learning object and should not be edited or included with the finished learning object files.
You can find the files relating to the Skillport Custom Content Player frameset in the LOTemplate\MSFFrameset directory.
To view your learning object in the Skillport Custom Content Player frameset
- Open the course.html page in Notepad or a similar HTML editor.
- Locate the line beginning: <FRAME ID="sfContentFrame" NAME="sfContentFrame" SRC="../template/index.html"
- Alter the source of the sfContentFrame to point to the location of the index.html (or first) page of your newly created custom learning object and select File > Save.
- To launch the learning object in the Skillport Custom Content Player frameset:
- Open the index.html page that is in the LOTemplate\MSFFrameset directory in your browser window.
- This launches a page that contains the link to your learning object.
- Click the link and your learning object will launch within the Skillport Custom Content Player frameset.
For additional information on how the template files work, refer to Appendix 2.
