Is Books24x7 compatible with the Amazon Kindle?
In response to our many enthusiastic learners that have embraced the new e-Reader devices, Books24x7 has made the following enhancements to support the Amazon Kindle device:
What does Books24x7 mean when they call the file "Kindle-ready mobi"?
Amazon’s electronic books are available in a proprietary file format – *.AZW – which was developed by Amazon and intended for use on the Kindle, only. Recognizing that users may want to leverage content from other sources, the Kindle was developed so that it could support other file formats – including the Mobipocket (*.MOBI). This is the file format which Books24x7 is using to make select downloads readable on the Amazon Kindle.
You may go to the Amazon Kindle website to learn more about what other file formats can be used on the different models and how to load them to your device:
Can I download a full book from Books24x7 to my Kindle?
No, Books24x7 does not currently allow the download of a complete full-text book to any file format. But Chapters to Go does allow users to download 15 chapters every 90 days from full-text books. This feature pertains only to those collections which contain full-text books, such as ITPro, BusinessPro, EngineeringPro and several others.
Since Chapters to Go is a premium service, you may want to check with either your Subscription Administrator or SkillSoft Learning Consultant to determine if your Books24x7 subscription currently supports Chapters to Go. You may also go here to determine if your subscription includes Chapters to Go.
How do I access the Kindle-ready mobi files on Books24x7?
The Kindle-ready mobi files are currently available in the ExecSummaries product and for any subscriptions that have the Chapters to Go feature. Information on downloading the new Kindle-ready mobi files is available from the links below:
How do I get the Kindle-ready file onto my Kindle after I have downloaded it from Books24x7?

What is the new Text (*.TXT) downloadable file on ExecSummaries?
Since many of the e-readers also support a simple text (*.TXT) file, Books24x7 is providing this format as another option for ExecSummaries titles. This file format only contains text therefore it does not include any of the graphics, tables or formatting that would be viewable in a Kindle or PDF file.
This format is currently only available with the ExecSummaries product.
