Live Course Checklist
These are the items you need to create your live course. The more detail you add, the more informed learners are and the easier it is to manage later. If you do not have all the information available, you can add any non-required items after you publish. Items marked with an asterisk (*) are required.
*Course title | A title for the course. The words you use here also become keywords for searching.
*Course description | A description of what the user can expect to learn.
*Course image |
An image that displays to learners who find the course through search or through browsing the library. You can also specify Alt text to be read by screen readers if your image contains important text or content. |
|
*Content language | If learners change their Percipio site language, they only see the live courses created in this language.
*Estimated class duration | The number of hours and minutes a learner can expect to spend attending the class.
*Content Source |
Identify where the content comes from such as a vendor, department, or person.
You can use this value to filter reports. If you do not know what to specify, use the Organization name you defined in Settings. |
|
*Dates and times offered |
Every live course must have at least one date and time that it meets; this is called a class. You can specify a past date. |
|
Additional information specific to the course | Any instructions, directions, prerequisites, or costs associated with the course.
Additional content discovery details | Specify expertise level and technology information like a title or version. These help learners find your course when searching.
Registration approval |
Decide if an admin or managers need to approve a learner's request to register for a class. If you require managers to approve registrations, ensure users have an Approval Manager assigned for each user. |
|
Enrollment settings |
Decide on how learners interact with the course. By default, Percipio uses the following settings for a live course:
You can change these defaults to meet your course or class needs. View all enrollment settings. |
|
Location or URL | Where the class takes place, in a physical location or online. If you do not have the physical location or online meeting URL available during initial set up, you can add it later.
Instructor |
A Percipio user with instructor privileges who teaches the class and can manage the class roster. If you do not want the person teaching the class to have a Percipio user account, add their name to the Additional Information field when creating your live course. If you do not know, you can specify this later. |
|
Course contact | A person available to answer questions about the class or registration.
Custom Channel | If you do not add your live course to a custom channel, learners cannot find it through browsing or searching. |
