Individual Audiences

An audience is a subset of your user population that you define. You can define a subset by the same attribute value or you can define it solely based on individual selection.

You can create an individual audience from the Audience Management page in one of two ways:

• Select the Create audience button. Some characteristics of this audience include:
  • Only site admins can create an audience using the Create audience button.
  • There is no limit to the size of or the number of audiences that you can create in the platform.
  • You can add any user with a role of manager or learning admin as an audience owner.
  • You can add any user with a role of learning admin with the Manage child audiences as an administrator permission enabled as an audience administrator.
• From the Actions menu of an audience, select Create child audience. Some characteristics of this audience include:
  • Both site admins and learning admins who are audience administrators can create child audiences.
  • Child audiences are limited to only users existing in the parent audience.
  • You can create as many child audiences as you want, but you can only go three levels deep.
  • When assigning audience owners or administrators, the user does not have to be a member of the audience.
