Skills Discovery Dashboard
The Skills Discovery dashboard gives you valuable insight into how your learners are exploring content on the platform. The sections of the dashboard show what learners are searching for and the skill interests they are choosing during their onboarding.
Dashboard Insights
The Skills Discovery dashboard gives you insights into what skills your users are most interested in. You can:
- See which skill interests are most popular amongst your learners. Share this data with stakeholders and managers to show the directions in which your organization is growing.
- View learner trends. See which skill interests are most common in a particular date range. Reflect on how different groups of new hires may effect the top skill interests.
- See the top skill interests chosen by your learners. Use this information to choose relevant content to promote to learners.

About this dashboard
This dashboard contains the following sections:
Learners select skill interest during their Skillsoft Platform onboarding experience and can update these skill interest selections at any time by going to My Learning > Skill Interests. The Top Skills Selected section lists the skill interest subjects as of the end date and the audience you choose.
This table shows the following columns:
-
SELECTED INTERESTS: The Selected Interests column lists the skill subjects that your learners, within the specified audience, currently have selected as of the end date of the selected date range.
-
TOTAL USERS: The total users column lists the number of learners who have that skill interest selected as of the end date. Only the end date of the filter date range is used to calculate the selected skill interest count shown.
The trend indicator is calculated in comparison to the end date of the previous date range. For example, if you choose a date range of one month, and your end date is June 30, the trend indicator compares the total on the end date of the prior period (May 31) to the total on the end date of the selected period (June 30) to show an increase, decrease, or no change. If you do not see a trend icon, there is no data available for the previous time period.
The Top Searched Terms section lists what your learners are looking for when they use the Skillsoft Platform search. Use the dashboard’s filters to focus your results based on a date range and audience. The resulting report shows the number of times each search term was used during the specified period for that audience, plus how many learners did that search.
This table contains the following columns:
-
SEARCH TERM: The search term column lists the terms your learners are looking for when they use search in the platform.
-
TIMES SEARCHED: The times searched column lists the total number of times that a term was used during the date range and for the audience you chose.
The trend indicator is calculated in comparison to the previous date range. For example, if you choose a date range of the last 7 days, the trend indicator shows you an increase, decrease, or no change when compared to the prior 7 days. If you do not see a trend icon, there is no data available for the previous time period.
-
USERS SEARCHING: The number of unique learners who have searched for the given term in the selected date range.
