Understanding Data Export Reports

The Data Export feature is designed to enable selected Skillsoft Administrators to create reports specifically for export to a Skillsoft-supplied SFTP site and then import the reports to their own system for processing. Customizable versions of the User Listing and Asset Activity by User reports are available within this feature. Administrators can precisely control which data fields are included, specify column headers and select the column order, and filter the data with the user, group, and asset filters.

Contact your Application Engineer or Skillsoft Account team to further discuss the benefits of this feature, or to request that they enable the Data Export feature and provide you with login credentials to our SFTP site.

Before you design your Data Export Reports, we recommend that you become familiar with the standard reports on which they are based.

The Data Export Report templates are available in the Data Export Reports folder located on the Administrator > Reports > Templates > Default tab.

Important Notes

• You cannot preview the Data Export Default or Personal templates.
• You cannot use Save Result with Data Export default or Personal templates.
• You can edit the Data Export Default templates to create customized templates that are saved to the Personal tab.
• You cannot create a schedule for the Data Export Default templates, but you can create schedules for the Data Export Personal templates.
• You cannot share the Data Export Default or Personal templates.
• You can download the report results from the FTP site, as well as the Report > Results window.
• You cannot export the results to a third party FTP site without the use of Skillsoft Platform Services.
