About WikisA "wiki" is a website that enables creation and editing of documentation, with the use of a simplified markup language or a WYSIWYG (What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get) text editor and a web browser. A wiki also acts as a database for creating, browsing and searching through information. Wikis usually involve wiki software and are often used to create collaborative efforts such as community websites, corporate intranets and knowledge management systems. Wikis have diversified purposes, where some allow control over various levels of access, such as permissions for editing, adding, removing and other rules involve organising content. They can also be modified by the general public without registering for user accounts. Blogs and wikis share the same basic functionalities since they are both websites, allow users to comment on the content and are comprised of user generated content. However, there are distinct differences between blogs and wikis:
