This section describes the process of launching a successfully published AICC compliant learning object from the Skillport site using the HACP method.
When a student clicks a custom-built learning object on Skillport to launch it, Skillport creates a launch URL that combines elements it generates with elements from the compliance files you must supply when publishing custom content.
When creating this launch URL, Skillport appends two parameters required by the AICC CMI specification to enable communication between the LMS and the learning object. The first parameter is a unique session ID (contained in the parameter AICC_SID). The second is a URL (contained in the parameter AICC_URL) that the learning object must use to communicate with Skillport. (Web launch parameters can also be appended to the URL if required by the object being launched.) The content parses the launch URL to retrieve the session ID and URL, which it uses for all progress communication with Skillport.
