Cancel an Assignment

You can cancel any In Progress or Scheduled assignment, both recurring and one-time only. Canceling an assignment is irreversible, and the assignment is non-recoverable. Once canceled, the assignment is no longer completable to those learners who have not finished it. You cannot report on canceled assignments, unless that assignment was a recurrence and past occurrences were completed.

Site Admins can cancel any In Progress or Scheduled assignment. Learning Admins can cancel In Progress or Scheduled assignments they created for their audiences and the learners within their audiences.

You can cancel assignments in one of two ways:

Cancel for all users and audiences:

  1. From the left navigation bar, select Learning > Assignments. The Assignments page displays.
  2. Locate the In Progress or Scheduled assignment you wish to cancel.
  3. Select actions menu icon, gray elipse > archive icon, gray box with white downward arrow Cancel for all. If the assignment is a recurring assignment, when you select Cancel for all, you are canceling the current assignment and all future occurrences. If you want to keep the current occurrence and remove just the recurrence, select Cancel recurrence.
  4. In the confirmation box, you can opt to notify the user(s) by selecting Notify user. After you select Yes, cancel assignment, Percipio immediately cancels the assignment and if selected, sends an email notification letting learners know the assignment was canceled. Learners can remove a canceled assignment from their Assignment list by selecting the trashcan icon delete icon, a gray trashcan If the assignment was recurring, the recurrence is also removed.

Cancel for a selected number of users or audiences:
