The following are frequently asked questions when integrating SuccessFactors Learning  with Percipio.

General Questions

Yes, there is a fee for Skillsoft Professional Services team to implement the SuccessFactors Learning connector. After you implement the connector, it is free to use as part of Percipio.

No. The connector uses standard functionality available in SuccessFactors Learning.

No. All configuration steps within SuccessFactors Learning can be performed by your SuccessFactors Learning Administrator.

One exception is you may need assistance from your SuccessFactors Account Team to configure SFTP access if this is not already enabled.

Yes. The SuccessFactors Learning  connector is the only supported method for automatically synchronizing Percipio learner usage data.

You can choose to manually export data from Percipio or use the available APIs to build your own process to import and synchronize the data if you wish.

Yes. The SuccessFactors Learning connector is the only supported method for automatically synchronizing Percipio content items.

You can choose to manually export data from Percipio or use the available APIs to build your own process to import and synchronize the data if you wish.

No. The level of work to implement the SuccessFactors Learning connector is the same whether for testing or production and so Skillsoft does not offer this option.

Yes. If you contact your Skillsoft account team, they can share with you a short video that shows the learner experience.

This will depend on how prepared you are and the availability of your resources to work on the project.

To ensure your success, our Skillsoft team will work collaboratively with you during the implementation process and help you make decisions around deployment options that will work best for your configuration.

Our implementation team has defined the project schedule based on our years of experience and best practices. The project typically takes 6-8 weeks, but each project is unique and so Skillsoft will make our best effort to accommodate your schedule.

Automated content management

Yes. All Skillsoft content types can be made available in SuccessFactors Learning

Yes. During the implementation process you will work with the Skillsoft account team to select the content you wish to make available.

You will be able select by the content types, for example only adding courses, and further refine the selection to specific content items if you wish.

It is important to note that if the content items are not loaded into SuccessFactors Learning, then usage will not be recorded in SuccessFactors Learning for these items.

Yes, Skillsoft Compliance Suite content is part of the content synchronized by the connector.

If you are using Compliance 1.0, then no. Compliance content is provided as AICC packages. You can use the standard SuccessFactors Learning content import processto load and manage Skillsoft compliance content.

A SuccessFactors Learning administrator  manages the scheduled time, but the process runs at least once a day.

Yes. All the Skillsoft content in all languages will be included in the process.

Yes. New Skillsoft content items will automatically be added to the SuccessFactors Learning .

Yes. Updated Skillsoft content items will automatically update in SuccessFactors Learning.

Yes. Retired Skillsoft content items will automatically be marked as inactive in SuccessFactors Learning.

Yes, for certain values. These values are usually unique to your specific implementation of SuccessFactors Learning and not related to Skillsoft metadata about the content item.

During the implementation process the Skillsoft account team will work with you to configure these values.

No. There is no synchronization of Skillsoft Subjects and Areas to SuccessFactors Learning.

No. There is no synchronization of Skillsoft Collection information to SuccessFactors Learning.

Content launch and consumption

Using SAML Single Sign-on (SSO) means that learner’s access to the content in Percipio should be seamless. This is dependent on how your SAML system is configured.

Yes. Skillsoft recommends using SAP Cloud Identity Services - Identity Authentication (IAS) as your SAML Identity Provider, but you can use any identity provider so long as it can supply the correct learner identifier.

No. Using our recommended SAML configuration means that a Percipio learner account will be created the first time the learner accesses content. The learner account is populated with the SAML information your system supplies. Subsequent accesses will update the Percipio account based on the data from your SAML system.

You can also choose to setup an automated feed from your HR systems to add additional learner information to Percipio, if all the information is not available in your SAML system

SuccessFactors Learning  uses the metadata about Skillsoft content delivered through the Automated Content Management process. SuccessFactors Learning  has its own algorithms for displaying content, handling learner's searches, and providing content recommendations which is different from Percipio.

No. There is no synchronization of SuccessFactors Learning assignments to Percipio.

No. There is no synchronization of Skillsoft subjects and areas to SuccessFactors Learning.

Learners will be able to discover and launch content from:

  • SuccessFactors Learning  web
  • SuccessFactors Learningmobile app
  • Percipio web
  • Percipio mobile app
  • Any Percipio add-ons or plug-ins, such as Percipio for Microsoft Teams or Percipio ELSA browser plug-in

Yes. All Skillsoft content is imported to the SuccessFactors Learning Library you specify, and you then use standard controls within SuccessFactors Learning to control access to this Library.

No. There is no synchronization of Skillsoft collection information to SuccessFactors Learning  and so it is not possible to assign a Percipio license via SuccessFactors Learning .

You can assign licenses in Percipio, but learners may find content items in SuccessFactors Learning  that they will not have access to in Percipio.

Learner completion tracking

Yes. SuccessFactors Learning will record the usage as long as the content item exists in SuccessFactors Learning.

Yes. SuccessFactors Learning  will record the completion as long as the content item exists in SuccessFactors Learning .

This will be based on the Completion Settings of your Percipio site. Percipio will send a completion status when a learner has met the Percipio completion criteria.

Percipio sends usage to SuccessFactors Learning within a few seconds of it occurring in Percipio.

Yes. The learner’s usage is tracked and available to report on using Percipio Analytics. Admins can also see the learner activity data in SuccessFactors Learning .

The following usage data for a learner and piece of content is available in SuccessFactors Learning:

User score If the Skillsoft content item has an associated assessment the score achieved. Some Skillsoft Content Items such as Books do not have scores, in this case this is empty.
Time spent The total time the learner has spent on the content.
Completion date The date the learner first met the completion criteria for the content.

Yes, SuccessFactors Learning supports learners completing content multiple times. Percipio sends a new record for each completion.
