Testing Content for Integration
Depending on your contract with Skillsoft, you may have either Skillsoft content or compliance content or both.
-
Skillsoft content: This includes content from Business, Technology & Developer, and Leadership collections. This does not include any compliance content. For more information, view a list of Frequently Asked Questions for non-compliance content integration.
-
Skillsoft Compliance content: This includes content from the Legal, and Environmental, Safety & Health collections. For more information, view a list of Frequently Asked Questions for compliance content integration.
Use the process on this page to obtain AICC test content for both Skillsoft content and compliance content and validate that the appropriate content works within your LMS platform.
You can contact your Skillsoft account team or Skillsoft Customer Support if you experience any issues or concerns while going through the process.
Requirements
To use AICC content integration, your LMS must:
- Support the AICC HACP standard v2.2 or later.
- Be on the public internet (intranet hosted platforms are not supported).
- Use HTTPS/SSL.
- Use the standard HTTPS/SSL port 443.
- Use an SSL certificate that is issued from a recognised Public Root Certificate Authority. You can use this tool to check if your LMS SSL certificate is trusted.
- Use a call back URL that passes to content as the AICC_URL parameter per the AICC standard. This call back URL must not require authentication or require any session cookie from your LMS for access.
Step 1: Download and load the test content into your LMS
- From the table below, download the appropriate AICC test packages that you need based on the content in your Skillsoft contract, your physical location, and your LMS.
If you download a content package from the US location, personally identifiable information (PII) is transmitted to and stored at that location. If you download a content package from the EMEA location, personally identifiable information (PII) is transmitted to and stored at that location. - Follow the process within your LMS to add AICC standards-based content. Ensure the content opens in a new, non-framed browser window on launch.
IMPORTANT: To secure against the Click Jacking vulnerability, the default prevents content from launching within an LMS iframe. If your LMS can only open content within an iframe, Skillsoft can configure an exclusion to allow you to test the content. Please contact Skillsoft Support and supply the fully qualified domain name of your LMS server from where the iframe page is served.
Step 2: Observe the Completion Criteria
To facilitate achieving completion during the test process, passing criteria is as follows:
To achieve a complete status, you must meet the following criteria when testing:
- View all pages of the content
- Achieve an assessment score of 100%
To achieve a complete status, you must achieve an assessment score that is higher than 25%.
Step 3: Test the content in your LMS
- Create new user account in your LMS.
- Assign a test course to this account.
- Sign into your LMS as the new user.
- Launch the course.
- Confirm the course loads.
- Exit the course, and return to your LMS.
- Confirm that the status for the course shows the appropriate message for a session that is incomplete.
- Launch the course again.
- Once the course loads, progress through the first topic of the course.
- Exit the course, and return to your LMS.
- Confirm that the status of the course shows the appropriate message for a session that is incomplete, and includes the session time (if displayed by the LMS).
- Launch the course again. The course table of contents should indicate the first topic is complete and you are starting the second topic.
- Progress through the remaining topics in the course. For compliance courses, the assessment at the end should now be unlocked.
- Exit the course, and return to your LMS.
- Confirm the course status in the LMS shows the appropriate message for a session that is incomplete, and includes the updated session time (if displayed by the LMS).
- Launch the course again. The course table of contents should indicate that all the topics are complete. For compliance courses the assessment is unlocked.
- Take the assessment and attempt to score below the mastery. Note the score achieved. Mastery is:
- 25% for Skillsoft content
- 100% for compliance contentNote: For testing, the mastery score for Skillsoft content is set to 25% and compliance content is set to 100%. During the implementation of your own content site, Skillsoft configures the appropriate mastery score you select.
- Exit the course and return to your LMS.
- Confirm the course status in your LMS shows the appropriate message for a session that is incomplete, a session time (if displayed by the LMS), and the score achieved.Note: Some LMSs may mark the status as failed, because the Skillsoft metadata contains a value for the mastery score, which is below the completion criteria value. Standards allow the LMS to judge completion status and override the incomplete status returned by the Skillsoft course. If you need metadata without a mastery score, then choose the Compliance content for Workday packages.
- Launch the course again. The course table of contents should indicate that all the topics are completed, and the assessment is unlocked, but the Completion Status will not show complete.
- Retake the assessment and achieve a mastery score.
- Exit the course, and return to your LMS.
- Confirm that the status in your LMS shows the appropriate message for a session that is complete, a session time (if displayed by the LMS) and the score achieved.
