Initial Training Notice
The Initial Training Notice is sent to learners when a required course is assigned to them for the first time. Learners receive only one initial training notice for each course.
When activated, any user with an initial assignment in the last 30 days receives the email, if the course status is not started, and no original email was sent.
Additionally, when a recurring course becomes due again, the initial training notice is resent.

Placeholders allow you to have emails with dynamically generated values. Values for the placeholders are generated at the time the email is sent.
To insert placeholders and have them work properly, you must select them from the drop down list. If you type the square brackets ([ ]) and tilde (~), the email notification will not render properly, leaving users with missing information.
The email text, or body, includes the following placeholders.
Default:
- Courses Report: includes the course title and due date
- URL: the login URL for the site. Value for the login URL is set on the Setup page
Optional:
- Company Name: the name of your organization
- Course Status: learner's current status for the course
- Courses Report Title Only: course title only
- Courses Report Title/Due Date Only: course title and due date only
- Courses Report with Link: course and url
- Learner Name: learner's name
- userid: id of the user
- Due/Assigned: For this template, you will always see the word “assigned” because the Standard User Initial notice is configured to look at any users who were assigned any course within the last 30 days by default.
- Next/last: For this template, you will always see the word “last” because the Standard User Initial notice is configured to look at any users who were assigned any course within the last 30 days by default.
- TimeFrame: For this template, you will always see “30 days” because the Standard User Initial notice is configured to look at any users who were assigned any course within the last 30 days by default.

Default: Learners with newly assigned, required content who have not started the course.
No other options are available.

Default frequency: every day.
You cannot edit the frequency.

Learners receive only one Initial Training Notice per course.

Akara has selected Skillsoft to provide training through an online Training Academy. This email notifies you about the training that has been assigned to you and explains how to participate. NOTES FOR NEW USERS ACCESSING A COURSE: When you reach the Welcome Page, click on the Learning Plan link (on the left). Click on the arrow (points to the right) next to the course title to run a course. If you need to exit before you complete a course, the last frame you were on will be bookmarked. When you enter the course again, you will not have to start at the beginning.
