About Language Mapping
Many Compliance courses are translated into one or more languages, other than English. This allows your learners to take the course in their preferred language. However, assigning different versions of a course to learners based on language could be a daunting task for administrators.
With Percipio Compliance, you can assign the English version of a course to all learners, and any learners who change their site language receive the translated version of the course, if available in that language.
Additionally, all learner progress for the course is mapped to the original assignment, regardless of the language. To monitor learners' progress, you only need to run a report for the English version of the course that's assigned to your learners.
Example
You own a global shipping company and have warehouses in several countries throughout the world. You want to assign a course on diversity to all your employees. The course is translated into many languages, but it is not available in Mandarin Chinese.
You assign the English version of the course to the Global Warehouse Employees audience.
- Sofia lives in Germany and their primary language is German. Sofia changes their site language to German. They are immediately offered the German version of the course.
- Juan lives in Spain and speaks Spanish. They change their site language to Spanish. Juan is immediately offered the Spanish version of the course.
- Yuri lives in China and changes their site language to Mandarin Chinese. Since the course is not available in Yuri's preferred language, they are assigned the English version.
In order to monitor your learners' training, you run reports against the English version of the course. All progress for all learners is "mapped" back to the original assignment, allowing you to track all your learners' progress in the same report.
