New Features

• Enhanced Web Accessibility Options

  The Skillsoft Mobile Player now contains the following web accessibility enhancements:

  • Text alternatives are provided for non-text content, such as images and buttons.
  • Content is presented in an easy to navigate format and utilizes standard HTML elements, such as forms, tables and lists.
  • To enhance content viewing, High Contrast mode can be enabled, using any of the high contrast Windows settings.
  • To allow learners to explore pages and locate interactive elements, initial page focus is at the top of each page. Learners can navigate pages with JAWS Navigation Quick Keys, by tabbing, and by using up and down arrows.

    Note: Unlike in SCP, initial focus will not be placed on an assumed next interactive element. Instead, initial focus will be at the top of each page.

• Auto-Start Audio and Video

  When launching in 508 mode, the auto-starting of audio and video when navigating to a new page will be turned off by default. The user will be able to play the audio or video once they are ready. A new option has been added to the Settings Dialog to toggle the auto-start state.

  Note: This setting only appears if you launch the player in 508 mode.

• Drag & Drop

  Drag & Drop functionality for keyboard users has been updated to display a list of targets after selecting an option.

Bug Fixes

• An issue causing a course to freeze in Internet Explorer 10 has been resolved. (CR 173872)
• Learners are receiving two Java security warning messages (Academy customers). This issue has been resolved. (CR 174055)
• An issue causing a Skillport site configured to use SCP over RIA to launch RIA instead has been resolved. (CR 174168)
• Problems loading content hosted in Amazon S3 server environments have been resolved. (CRs 175399, 175536)
• The Next button was not enabled when CCA_AUDIO_NAVIGATION=true. This issue has been resolved. (CR 176944)
