Course Menu Overview

For some courses, the Course Menu opens when you first launch a course. The Course Menu provides access to many important course items and instructional material. Use the Tab key to navigate through the options on the Course Menu, and use the Space Bar or Enter key to select an option.

There are some instances when the focus is "taken over" by another application that is running on your desktop. You may experience a loss of focus both visually and audibly. As a workaround, select Shift + Tab to move the focus away from the player window then Shift + Tab again to move back to the player window. At this point the focus should be on the Begin Course or Return to Bookmark button. Continue using the Tab key to navigate or F5 to read the whole page.

Note: Do not use the X button in the top right hand corner of the browser window or other Windows control functions to exit the course. Scores and bookmarks may be lost if you do not use the player's Exit button.

The following list describes the main components found on the Course Menu.

• Completion Status: Displays your course completion status.
• Table of Contents: Displays a clear completion workflow of all of the lessons, topics, and tests in the course.
• Course Test: Launches the course test. Course (and lesson) tests are also available from the Table of Contents.
• Resources: Displays the resources available for the course.
• About: Displays general information about the course.
• General Settings: Displays several settings to enhance your course play.
• Ask My Mentor: Launches Skillsoft's Mentoring service.
• Take The Tour: Launches a video overview tour of the player.
• Help: Launches the player help files.

Note: Not all of the options listed are available in all courses.
