Changes and Enhancements

Video Playback Controls: To prevent learners from bypassing, and potentially missing, critical content, two new player settings that control video playback speeds are available to the Skillport Administrator:
- Remove the ability to speed up video playback in Compliance courses.
- Set the maximum speed of video playback for all courses.

Enhanced Support for Non-Flash Environments: Customers are removing or blocking Adobe Flash (Flash) from their environment and as a result, player support for non-Flash desktops and tablets has been enhanced. If Flash is blocked or not on the learner’s computer and a course contains Flash content, the player offers the learner the option to play the content on a computer where Flash is installed and enabled, or continue through the course by skipping the Flash content. Flash content does not provide any additional instructional information beyond what is already covered in other areas of the course allowing the learner to complete the course.
Flash play can be disabled by the Skillport Administrator via a player configuration (DISABLE_FLASH). When Flash is disabled, no attempts to fetch or play any Flash content are made. The player will always default to using the non-Flash (MP4) content when available. This setting is useful if Flash is installed on the learners’ computers, but Flash content is blocked in the customer’s network.
Topic Tests Available Only for Assigned Topics: Previously, topic tests appeared at the end of any topic launched from the View Relevant Topics link on the content details page. Now, topic tests only appear for topics that the Administrator has assigned to the learner's Learning Plan. Note that this change is in effect for Java-dependent and Java-free environments.
Next Button Prompt: To enhance the learner experience and clarify next steps when landing on the Topic Overview page, the Next button changes state, from to , prompting the learner to select it.
Clearer Pre-Test Next Steps: Upon completing a course Pre-test, learners now have two clear options on how to proceed into the course, preventing any confusion. The menu on the left side now opens alongside the Course Test Results page (shown below) and displays the Table of Contents for easy access to the course. Also, the Next Topic navigation button at the bottom of the screen becomes active providing a second way to navigate directly into the course.
Compliance Partner Endorsements: The logos of valuable partners endorsing our compliance courses are now displayed in the Self-Monitored Training dialog box that opens upon course launch.

Bug Fixes

CR 197603: An issue causing a custom logo to appear small and unreadable has been fixed.
CR 199579: Several UI elements, such as Skip, Show Me, Steps, and Done, have updated color contrast.
CR 200220: Aria label attributes have been added to course player buttons.
CR 200820, 200821: Course player buttons now have unique, descriptive Name properties.
CR 200825: Interactive objects (Availability, Integrity, Confidentially) now have unique, descriptive Name properties.
CR 200826: The 'x' button on popups now has a correct name property.
CR 200827: On the Course Test page, the Help button (question mark) now has a unique, descriptive Name property.
CR 200829: The test checkbox answers now have all associated questions and cues contained in its Name property.
CR 200833: The Conditions of Self-Monitored Training popup now has a descriptive Name property.
CR 200842: The Name property for the quiz popup has been updated to visually match what is on the screen.
CR 200844: The teal Disagree text on the beige background has been updated to pass color contrast requirements.
CR 200849: An issue where captioned text was not included in the audio course component has been fixed.
CR 200831, CR 200841: The popups associated with interactive objects have been updated to display the correct Role and to contain information that matches the visual.
CR 200966: Visual indication of focus on the About page in the course player has been added.
CR 200976: Focus rectangles now have sufficient color contrast.
CR 200992: JAWS users can now skip repetitive course navigation links.
CR 201984: Headers in courses are now more descriptive for AT users.
CR 202039: The progress circle indicators in the course player have been enhanced to be immediately discernible for users with visual disabilities.
CR 202057: Test questions' answers and feedback have been made more sensible for JAWS users.
CR 202113: An issue causing video to not be announced by a screen reader application, thereby alerting users to video on the page, has been fixed.
CR 202217: An issue causing a Short Answer Graphic correct answer to be marked as incorrect has been fixed.
CR 202228: An issue where decorative images did not have alternative text has been fixed.
CR 202232: An issue where lesson durations are not announced by JAWS in the course has been fixed.
CR 202255: Keyboard shortcuts now display from the relevant page.
CR 202373: An issue where alternative text wasn't being announced on the course overview page has been fixed.
CR 203158: In JAWS, when zoomed into a course, a continue button appears and now announces that the course menu is closing.
CR 203164: An issue causing lesson progress to appear when courses are first launched has been fixed.
CR 203193: The color contrast on the topic overview screen has been updated to meet color contrast requirements.
CR 203199: The color contrast of link text within questions has been updated to meet color contrast requirements.
CR 203200: The color contrast of completed pre-test links in the Table of Contents has been updated to meet color contrast requirements.
CR 203472: The Open/Close Menu button in the upper left hand corner of the course player now has a visible focus indicator.
CR 203847: The Correct Answer indicator for multiple choice questions has been updated to meet color contrast requirements.
CR 203972: An issue causing arrow keyboard shortcuts provided in a course to not function has been fixed.
CRs 204590, 205034: An issue causing a launch error while decoding the AICC URL has been fixed.
CR 205644: When CCA_AUDIO_NAVIGATION set to true, and issue causing the lab content to not register as complete, and navigation buttons to not become active, has been fixed.
CR 205515: An issue causing Case Study templates to fail to fetch audio clips, thus rendering topics not completable, has been fixed.
CR 206182: In Chrome, an issue causing the Conditions of Self-Monitored Training page text to not appear clearly has been fixed.
