Editing Learning Assets

You can edit the following types of learning assets in Dialogue Design: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint content. You can make basic changes such as deleting text in the Preview pane. You can do more complex changes using the Advanced Edit feature. When you use Advanced Edit, the learning asset is opened in its associated application.

To make basic edits to a learning asset

  1. Select the slide in the Presentation Layout pane, so that it is open in the Preview pane. For PowerPoint content, right click in the Preview pane and select Edit from the drop-down menu. Other content types can be edited directly.
  2. Make changes in the Preview pane as necessary.

    When you navigate away from the slide, changes are automatically saved to the temporary version of the presentation and get committed when the presentation is saved.

To use Advanced Edit

  1. In the Presentation Layout pane, select the desired slide.
  2. Click Edit > Advanced Edit on the menu, or click on the toolbar.

    The learning asset opens in its associated application, and the icon changes to End Advanced Edit icon (End Advanced Edit).

  3. Make the necessary changes.
  4. Save the file and close the application, or click End Advanced Edit icon

    The changes are reflected in Dialogue Design.
