Use the Record Audio toolbar to either add audio to a slide or to replace the existing audio in a slide. Note that while the Record Audio toolbar is open, the Record Audio button on the toolbar remains "pressed" to indicate that the floating toolbar is enabled. Clicking the Record Audio button again will close the toolbar. You can also close the toolbar by clicking on its Close (×) button.
You can move the toolbar around. The next time the toolbar is opened, it displays in the position that you moved it to.

Displays the duration of the recording/playback: HH:MM:SS (for example, 00:00:16. If the recording/playback is paused, the timer stops. |

Starts recording audio for the selected slide. While recording is in progress you cannot close the floating window. The Record button is disabled if a slide is opened for Advanced Edit. If you navigate to a slide opened for Advanced Edit while the Recording Audio toolbar is open and the Record button has already been selected, all buttons in the Recording Audio toolbar will be disabled. You can record audio for slides opened for simple edit whether or not there are any unsaved changes. |

Pauses/resumes recording or playing audio. |

Previews the recorded audio. In the case of PowerPoint slides, clicking the Play button launches the slide in Slide Show mode, along with the audio. |

If audio is being recorded, the recording is stopped and the recorded audio is added to the selected slide. If audio is being played back, the playback stops. In the case of PowerPoint slides, clicking the Stop button closes the Slide Show mode and returns the slide to Edit mode. |
