Override a Background Image
If you want to apply a color to a background instead of an image you must first override the image. In order to override an image you must create a transparent image and replace the existing image with this new one.
To override a background image:
- Create the transparent image. An image one pixel in size is acceptable.
- In the Outline pane, select the desired block or page.
- In the Design pane, click the Styles tab.
- Select the desired style from the Available styles list.
- In the Quick Preview pane, verify the correct element is selected.
- Click Edit to open the Style Editor.
- In the Background tab, Browse for and select the new image.
- Modify the color if desired.
- Click Apply to apply the changes and leave the Style Editor open, or click Ok to apply the changes and close the Style Editor.
- If you delete the image from the overlay with the delete button but do not replace the image, Quick Preview and Global Preview may display the element as if the image is no longer applied. However - once published the stock image will override the 'empty' value in the overlay and the results may not be what you expected. Applying the transparent image prevents the stock image from overriding the color setting.
