Language Mapping Option for Translated Courses

If you select the Language Mapping option when loading your Compliance content into your LMS, you chose a simplified administration of your compliance course.

With this option selected, you only have to assign the English version of the course for all learners. The learners select the language when they launch the course. Then all course activity, no matter the language, tracks back to the English version of the course.

Note: If learners start the course in one language and do not complete it, then come back into the course at a later time, they must select the same language or any progress they made is lost.

Learner course experience

If you choose the Language Mapping option, the learner experience is as follows:

  1. Learner starts course from your LMS.
  2. Learner selects their language from the drop down list. The languages that display depend on what you licensed and what is available for the course.

  3. The language on the page translates to the chosen language. The learner can then select the equivalent Play course button to start the course in that language.

If the learner does not complete the course in that one sitting, they can relaunch it from the LMS. The language they chose originally displays as the default option. If the learner decides at this point to change the language, they lose any progress made in the course.
