Cast with AirPlay or Chromecast

With AirPlay and Chromecast, learners can cast a course or video from their Skillsoft Percipio mobile app to any supported device, such as Smart TVs and speakers.
Note: Chromecast is not available for Chinese mobile app users as Google services are not supported in China.

Prerequisites

To use AirPlay or Chromecast with the mobile app, you need:

  • Skillsoft Percipio mobile app – version 1.9.7 or higher
  • A Chromecast/AirPlay device or Smart TV with Chromecast/AirPlay support
  • Chromecast/AirPlay device and Skillsoft Percipio mobile app should be connected to the same WiFi network

Start casting

  1. Launch any course or video in the mobile app and start playing it.

  2. Select the Chromecast or AirPlay icon. The AirPlay icon only shows when a compatible device is available nearby.

  3. From the list of available devices, select the device to use. When casting is active, the video will stop playing in the app and start playing on the cast device. Learners can control the video using the player controls available in the app.

    Note: Knowledge checks, or other resources (like Word, HTML files) that are part of the course will be skipped. Learners cannot interact with them when casting is active, and they will appear disabled in the course playlist.

Stop casting

You can stop casting at any point. Your progress is automatically synced. When you are done viewing the course or video:
  1. On your mobile device, select the Chromecast or AirPlay icon.
  2. Select Stop Casting or Disconnect. The course or video is no longer displayed on the device.
