Multiple Completions
The Skillsoft Cornerstone LMS integration supports multiple course completions. This allows learners to complete the same learning item more than once and have each completion event sent from Percipio to Cornerstone.
When enabled, each new completion recorded in the Skillsoft Platform is transmitted to Cornerstone as a separate completion event.
Important Considerations
Before enabling multiple completions, consider the following:
- Skillsoft sends completion records for each qualifying course completion.
- Whether an additional completion appears as a new completion record within the Cornerstone LMS depends on the Cornerstone LMS assignment and registration configuration.
- For repeat completions to be reflected in the Cornerstone LMS, the learner must typically have a new assignment, registration, or occurrence created in the Cornerstone LMS.
- If a learner completes training again in the Skillsoft Platform but no new registration or assignment exists in the Cornerstone LMS, the completion event may still be successfully transmitted, but the Cornerstone LMS may not display it as a new completion.
Recommended Configuration
To ensure that multiple completions work as you expect, we recommend that you configure each platform as follows.
Skillsoft Platform
To support multiple completions from the Skillsoft side, you should:
- Enable the required settings to make the retake course option available.
- Reach out to Skillsoft Support and request that they update the Tracking Connector configuration to enable multiple completion support.
Cornerstone LMS
To support multiple completions from the Cornerstone LMS side, you should review your Cornerstone LMS learning assignment settings to ensure repeat training can be tracked appropriately. Common configurations that support recurring training include:
- Creating a new occurrence for recurring assignments.
- Configuring assignment settings that allow new completion records to be generated for subsequent training cycles.
Consult your Cornerstone LMS administrator or Cornerstone LMS documentation for guidance on configuring recurring learning assignments.
Learner example
If you set up Skillsoft and the Cornerstone LMS successfully, the flows goes as follows:
- Learner completes a course.
- Learner is re-assigned or re-registered for the course in the Cornerstone LMS.
- Learner launches the course again.
- Learner completes the course.
- Skillsoft sends the new completion to the Cornerstone LMS.
- The Cornerstone LMS records the additional completion according to its registration and assignment rules.
