SuccessFactors Learning Integration Requirements

To use the SuccessFactors Learning connector with the Skillsoft Platform, as designed, you need to meet the following requirements as indicated for Skillsoft non-compliance or Skillsoft compliance content.

If an item is marked with an asterisk (*), you must have it to integrate SuccessFactors Learning   with the Skillsoft Platform.

Skillsoft Compliance Content

When integrating Skillsoft Compliance content, ensure the following:

  • *An active Skillsoft contract for all your learners who will be using Skillsoft content

  • *SuccessFactors Learning

  • Read/Write access to a folder on SAP’s SFTP server, for Skillsoft’s Percipio platform catalog synchronization process to SuccessFactors. Optionally, a third-party SFTP can be used, but client must have a process for copying these catalog files to the SAP SFTP server for SuccessFactor’s import process.

  • *A valid identifier for each learner that is configured consistently between the Skillsoft Platform and SuccessFactors Learning . Supported learner identifier values include:: student_id value.

The learner’s SuccessFactors User ID (STUD_ID) must be identical across all three systems:

    • Percipio: User ID / External User ID

    • SSO / SAML: NameID or user identifier claim sent by your IdP (e.g., Azure AD, Okta, SAP IAS)

    • SuccessFactors OData API: STUD_ID used for completion tracking

  • This ensures seamless single sign-on, accurate course launching, and automated completion tracking back to SuccessFactors.)

Skillsoft Non-Compliance Content

When integrating with Skillsoft content ensure all the items from Compliance content, plus the following:

  • *A SAML 2.0 Identity Provider (IdP), such as, SAP Cloud Identity Services Identity Authentication (IAS) , Microsoft Entra ID, or Okta that is capable of passing the learner identifier (SuccessFactors Learn User ID) to Skillsoft for seamless single sign-on and deep linking. User ID in the Skillsoft Platform must match the User ID in SuccessFactors. This is the only way for tracking to function.

  • * An OAuth 2.0 Client (Client ID & Client Secret / X.509 certificate) configured in SuccessFactors, or credentials to the SuccessFactors OAuth Token Server. The SuccessFactors API user/service account must have appropriate domain permissions and web service access to post to Learning History.

  • Recommended: The same number of seat counts across all the Skillsoft content collections you licensed. We recommend this because all content from all Skillsoft collections is synchronized to one SuccessFactors Learning catalog and all learners who can see this catalog can see all the content.
