New Features and Enhancements as of August 22, 2024
Engaging your learners to build a learning culture
The items in this section provide ways to engage your users so they want to learn and make learning a habit.
Empower learners to take control of their career growth by allowing them to select an aspirational role. This feature provides personalized recommendations to help learners bridge the gap between their current skills and the skills required for their desired role. This new feature:
- Allows learners to choose an aspirational role
- Recommends target skills needed for the aspirational role
- Identifies skill gaps by comparing target skills to current job-role skills
- Recommends content to close the largest skills gaps first
The Aspirational role is on by default, but you can turn it off from Site Settings > Site Configuration > Site features.
Manage, promote, and measure learning
The items in this section provide the tools you need to manage users and content, promote learning, and measure learning effectiveness on your bottom line.
A Q&A (questions and answers) tab is available in Skillsoft courses allowing learners to pose questions and receive answers from AI or SMEs in your organization. A new feature coming soon for Q&A will support the ability for a learner to tag another user in their organization who has a Percipio user account.
If you do not want learners to be able to tag others, you can turn off the Learner tagging setting on the Engagement and Notifications > Social Learning page before the feature goes live to learners later this year. The setting is on by default when Q&A is on.
A new Monthly learning digest email is coming soon. This email will go to learners showing what they accomplished in the previous month.
A new setting, located on the Engagement & Notifications > Email Campaigns page, is live with this release that allows you to control whether learners will receive this new email. The setting is ON by default because we have found that learners appreciate and engage with emails when those emails are relevant to them.
Prior to the email going live to learners, you can choose to disable the Monthly Learning Digest Email for your organization. This gives you control on how you manage communication preferences, ensuring that the learning experience is tailored to your organization’s policies.
Dynamic Content prompts learners to answer a series of questions. Based on their answers, learners receive a set of one or more content items, such as courses, books, and videos.
When you create or edit dynamic content using the build-your-own feature, you can now set the default language to a language other than English. This change also removes the requirement that build-your-own dynamic content must be created in English before any other languages can be added.
For more information, see Dynamic content.
Previously, child audiences were not showing in the Audience filter for Skillsoft Template reports and dashboards. Now, child audiences show in the Audience filter list, ensuring comprehensive and accurate reporting for all user segments.
Compliance, Ecosystems, and Integrations
The items in this section help you to integrate Percipio across your learning ecosystem and promote how Skillsoft works with its partners.
On Sunday, September 1 we will automatically update 13 compliance courses. These courses will retain the same content and course ID. You can anticipate a familiar process to our standard procedure for regular course updates.
- If learners start a course before the update date and exit the course while in progress, they may have to restart the course from the beginning. Any learners who completed the course will not be impacted.
- The courses will maintain the same look and feel, so it is unlikely your learners will notice the change.
- Training history in Percipio, Skillport, or your LMS stays intact.
- Content customized by Skillsoft Services remains intact.
- After the update, learners will be bookmarked back to the beginning of the course, and tests will be reset.
Recommended Action: Inform learners to complete any courses they have in progress before the update date to preserve their bookmarked progress.
The list of courses that will be republished is as follows and includes both the US English versions and the Latin American Spanish versions:

You can find more details about these courses, including their course IDs, in this list.
In order to support all new features coming for Topic Management of Compliance courses, we made changes to the way you create configurations. Previously, you could create a configuration directly on a base course by selecting Edit from the Action menu of that course. Now, you can only create a configuration by selecting Add configuration from the Actions menu of that course.
To ensure an easy transition to the new way, any previously existing base configurations are still available and they will not be deleted. This change only prevents new base configurations from being created.
New Topic Management features will be available for all Percipio Compliance Suite compliance courses later this year, including the ability to re-order the contents of a course, show/hide the contents of a course, and insert custom content anywhere within the flow of a course. More information will be coming closer to release!
For more information, see Configuring a course.
Usability Enhancements
The items in this section show where we are making improvements to the interface for a better experience.
We understand that your learning journey is unique and fluid, that's why we added a new feature that allows you to remove your current role selection. If your role was provided to you by an admin, you cannot remove it. Removing it opts you out of role-based learning recommendations and clears your Role Advisor page.
To remove your role, edit your current role, then select Clear selection. You can always add another role whenever you're ready.
Learners who launch a course from a share link, now see the course launching in the language associated with the share link and not with the language set by the learner’s browser. This improvement addresses accessibility concerns and provides a seamless learning experience especially for users who launch content from an LMS integrated with Percipio.
Note: This enhancement currently applies to shared link chromeless experiences and AICC launches, and is focused on courses and videos.
