New Features and Enhancements for the week of February 6, 2025
AI Updates
The items in this section highlight changes to AI elements in Percipio so you can stay in compliance with your internal processes.

To ensure CAISY delivers the best experience while meeting the latest security standards, we will be upgrading our AI models by February 12, 2025. Learners are unlikely to notice any changes when interacting with CAISY.
In addition, we will also be upgrading the AI Assistant guard model by March 31, 2025. Again, learners are not likely to notice any changes when interacting with the AI Assistant when the model gets updated.
We wanted to keep you informed about the updates for any internal processes you may have that needs this information. If you require additional information, please reach out to your Skillsoft account team.
General announcement

We've been listening to your feedback, and we're thrilled to announce a change that we believe will make your admin experience on Percipio even better.
We will be switching the day that we launch new platform features and enhancements from Thursdays to Tuesdays starting February 25, 2025. Access to the release notes will still be on Thursday of the prior week (February 20, 2025), increasing the notification period from 1 day to 3+ days.
Engaging your learners to build a learning culture
The items in this section provide ways to engage your users so they want to learn and make learning a habit.

If your organization has specified an Alternate email address, and your SMTP authentication fails, Percipio will send emails automatically using the default SMTP configuration with the address noreply@percipio.com. This update prevents email disruptions and ensures consistent communication with your learners.
Additionally, all active site admins will receive an email if there is an issue with the custom SMTP authentication.

This release finds the following updates to completion certificates:
- Learners who have a mixed case first or last name entered as part of their Percipio user profile, now see the correct case reflected on their completion certificates.
- If you offer a journey in multiple languages with the same content items in all languages, the learner can complete the journey in any language and earn a certificate of completion. When the learner downloads their certificate, the title of the journey now displays in the language the learner has designated as their site language. Previously, if a learner completed a journey in German (for example) and switched their site language to English for an English certificate, the journey title would display in German on the English certificate (the language in which they completed the journey).

Now, when learners take a Skillsoft course and launch a resource from the table of contents such as a job aid or HTML resource, they now see the completion circle filled indicating that the resource has been completed. Previously, the completion circle remained outlined. Learners will not see the completion circle filled on courses that they previously launched, unless they open the course and relaunch the resource.
Manage, promote, and measure learning
The items in this section provide the tools you need to manage users and content, promote learning, and measure learning effectiveness on your bottom line.

When you create a custom role based on Site admin, the option to Import Users is now unchecked and disabled by default. This change ensures that the ability to import users is clearly indicated as unavailable for custom site admins. This permission will be available in the future. If a user needs this permission now, you must make them a default site admin.
Additionally, you can now configure Content settings for custom roles, providing you with more flexibility in role management.

You now have the ability to decide whether a learner can earn a certificate of completion for a specific journey. Previously, certificates of completion were either on or off for all custom journeys. With this new feature, you have the opportunity to create multiple types and lengths of journeys and only award completion certificates to those that meet your qualifications.
For all existing journeys, the new setting will be on by default if the Completion setting under Site Settings is on. The new setting will be off by default for all existing journeys if the Completion setting under Site Settings is off. The Completion setting under Site Settings needs to be checked in addition to the new setting within the journey in order for the learner to earn and download the certificate of completion.

Usability Enhancements
The items in this section show where we are making improvements to the interface for a better experience.

Now when you enter text in the Description field for custom content, channels, journeys, dynamic content, live courses, assignments, and learning programs, the formatting (bold, italic, superscript, subscript, and special characters) you apply to the text displays to learners. Previously, when you formatted text in the Description field, the formatting was not carried through to the learner interface.
