Turn on SAML/SSO

SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) SSO (Single Sign-On) is required for the best Percipio - Cornerstone LMS integration user experience.

Prior to starting the SAML configuration, confirm the following with your Skillsoft Application Engineer:

Cornerstone OnDemand and Skillsoft recommend using the Cornerstone LMS embedded SSO because it is all configured and accessible from Edge Marketplace.

Note: If you use Edge Marketplace, you can only use Cornerstone LMS Embedded SSO as your IdP.

If you choose to use your own IdP, then you need to engage Cornerstone LMS Professional Services and your IdP contact to make the appropriate configurations in your system and provide the Skillsoft Application Engineer with your SAML metadata.

To transfer progress to Cornerstone OnDemand, the User ID field in Percipio must be one of 3 values:

  • The Cornerstone OnDemand User GUID: This is a long alphanumeric value that is also unique to every user in Cornerstone (Ex. B79DE953-31AC-4C89-A89E-AFA760CD2B2D).
  • The Cornerstone OnDemand Email: This is the Email address on file in Cornerstone LMS for a particular user (It is possible in Cornerstone LMS that more than one user account can share an email address. If this is the case, then the wrong account might receive the progress data).
  • The Cornerstone OnDemand User ID: This is the User ID in the Cornerstone LMS user record.

For the simplest integration, Skillsoft recommends that you allow SAML to create accounts automatically if a user does not have one.

With this information, your Skillsoft Application Engineer configures SAML on Percipio.
