Percipio Saba Cloud LMS Integration

Overview

The Saba Cloud LMS connector was developed by Skillsoft in partnership with Saba. The connector is available to all Saba Cloud LMS customers.

The connector allows customers to launch Skillsoft non-compliance content both from Percipio and from Saba Cloud LMS in addition to other platforms or integrations in their learning ecosystem.

The Saba Cloud LMS connector delivers three primary functions:

• Automated content deployment to the LMS catalog
• Content launch from the LMS to Percipio
• Tracking Percipio learner activity back to the LMS

How does it work?

The diagram below represents both the flow from Saba Cloud LMS to Percipio and the flow of data from Percipio to Saba Cloud LMS.

Automated content management

This is how Saba Cloud LMS is made aware of the Skillsoft non-compliance content that is available. Skillsoft generates a Saba Cloud LMS-formatted bulk content import file to deliver the content metadata information. Saba Cloud LMS then uses that metadata to create, update, or remove each Skillsoft non-compliance content item as a Saba Cloud LMS content and class item. Each external content item Skillsoft content item uses a Percipio share link. When your learners launch a Skillsoft content item from Saba Cloud LMS, the content launches within your Percipio site.

Content launch and consumption

When learners launch a Skillsoft content item from Saba Cloud LMS or the Saba Cloud LMS mobile app, the item opens automatically in Percipio without a learner having to log into Percipio. This seamless experience uses SAML Single Sign-On. In addition, learners can also access Percipio directly. Any content that learners access directly in Percipio is still recorded in Saba Cloud LMS.

Learner completion tracking

This is how we ensure that Saba Cloud LMS has a record for each learner for each Skillsoft content item they accessed. Percipio records all accesses, whether the learner follows an item's link from Saba Cloud LMS or accesses an item directly in Percipio. Percipio calls a specific Saba Cloud LMS xAPI LRS (Learning Record Store) to send the tracking information.
