Single Sign-On Benefits

With Single Sign-on (SSO), learners have a hassle-free, time-saving, easy-access experience to Percipio. They can access content from any other learning management or non-learning system in your ecosystem. This includes enabling social sharing and other situations that might take the learner out of the platform.

With SSO, you see the following benefits:

  • Improved productivity - It takes an average of 20 seconds for a user to log into a resource. Not having to enter a password each time saves time and makes users more productive.

  • Improved Security Users cannot access their Percipio account unless they can successfully authenticate through your corporate SSO first. Additionally, since credentials from your organization’s systems, access to applications like Percipio are managed in one centralized place.

  • Reduced frustration of multiple log-on events and forgotten passwords - Users only have one password to remember and update. And depending on your SSO configuration, if a user is already logged into one system, they may not be prompted to log into others.

  • Reduced helpdesk costs - Users have fewer passwords to manage, so there will be fewer calls to the help desk calls for password resets. This relates directly to bottom-line savings.

  • Simplified user management - Create and update user accounts when they log into Percipio by implementing the SSO just-in-time user creation and maintenance approach. When a user signs into Percipio, your Identity Provider (IdP) can send user information to Percipio for the automatic creation of new accounts and the updating of existing accounts. In addition, access to Percipio can be immediately suspended by removing or invalidating the user’s credentials in your IdP.

  • No Cost Option - Skillsoft does not charge for the basic SAML SSO offering.

  • Support for manual login with alternate username or alias - With this option users who might not be able to use SAML SSO (for example: because the platform is only accessible via company network) can still login with an alias directly on your LMS.  For example:  SAML can use a numeric employeeid as the username, but the user can also login manually with their email.

  • Mobile App supported - The Percipio Mobile App supports SAML SSO.
