Overview

SkillSoft's hosting solution allows for clients with an AICC or SCORM compliant LMS to import our course content metadata into their LMS. SkillSoft maintains the content and the LMS tracks and stores launch data and student progress.

Skillsoft provides two options for accessing our hosted content:

The OLSA Administrator Interface is a front-end application that allows you to manually download content metadata. Additionally, you can use the interface to manage users and groups, retrieve the course catalog hierarchy, configure communication settings, and access reporting.

The Skillport Open Learning Services Architecture (OLSA) API Web Services are available for automated integration between the LMS and our content. Use the web services to perform many of the same functions available in the OLSA admin, without the need to log into Skillport. Skillsoft partners with many vendors that use OLSA Web Services to provide additional features, such as streamlined course loading, catalog synchronization, seamless login or automated reporting.

Each LMS vendor will have specific information on these SkillSoft OLSA connectors.

Hosting Locations

We have two hosting facilities around the world for clients in different areas. The one in North America is referred to as the US Data Center (USDC), and the one in Europe is referred to as the European Union Data Center (EUDC).
