New Skillport 8i Search

Skillport introduces a new Skillport 8i search experience which provides modern search features such as type-ahead and improved relevancy, and brings the right content to the learner more quickly.

The new Skillport 8i Search has been enhanced in the following ways:

• Search now supports type-ahead functionality. After typing at least three characters in the search field, suggestions based on the characters entered may display below the field. Suggestions are refined as you continue typing. You can select a suggestion to initiate the search with that search phrase. Suggestions are based on an index compiled from several sources, including common user searches, asset keywords, author names, and Skillsoft library folder names.
• Since significant improvements in the relevance of search results eliminate the need to sort the list alphabetically or by published date, the Sort-by drop down is no longer necessary and has been removed from the Search Results page.
• With built-in support for features such as word stemming, typo-correction, auto-suggest/type-ahead, and synonyms, finding relevant content is simple and quick. See the Skillport 8i Search Tips topic for more information.
