Video Tab

You can add video content to certain template types to make your courses more visually engaging. After video is enabled, when you add a video template to your course, the available video options will be visible in the template.

Templates that can include video are:

To enable video in a course

  1. In the Content pane, click the Video tab.
  2. Select the check box that corresponds to the video file type you want to use:
  3. Optionally, you may want to upload different videos for phone and desktop devices.  Typically this is useful if you want to upload a lower bitrate video that is more suited for phones.

    To enable this feature:

    1. Select the phone check box on the Video tab.

      A new field displays.

    2. Upload the video specifically for phones to the new field.

The video for phones is included on all video template types.

Note: If you enable this setting, you must provide videos for both desktop and phones on ALL pages that support this feature.  Failure to do so will result in errors in video playback.

  4. In the Video Standard Caption field, specify the Width and Height to use as the default size for videos used in the Video Standard Caption pages. The default setting of 768x432 is the maximum video size.
  5. Click Apply.

The video enabled templates now contain the fields needed to add video content and video directions to your course. For information on these fields, see the Video & Graphics Direction, Attire, Scene and Props dialog box sections.

To disable video in a course

  1. In the Content pane, click the Video tab.
  2. Clear the check box(es) for your chosen platform.
  3. Click Apply.

Video is now disabled in the video templates. If you had previously entered video content, it is disabled and is replaced by the static images in the template.
