Systems that have access to the Course Download feature and have already downloaded the SkillSoft Course Manager (SCM) application should be aware of the following.
If you install or move the SCM to a different web server directory than previous installations, users will not be automatically prompted to update their SCM software. By default, users are only prompted for the SCM software update if they use the original URL. Their local client will continue to look on the original server location for new software updates.
To get the workstation SCM installations to access a new location
Note: To configure the Update link, you must select the Generate .SSO Files option during the server installation.
To run SCM in registry-free mode
If you are running SCM in registry-based mode and would like to run SCM in registry-free mode, upgrading your SCM to the latest version will automatically remove the registry settings.
