Non-default player properties for Skillsoft AICC content

• Courses marked permanently as ‘Failed’ on achieving a score below mastery:

  When AICC metadata files are imported into Moodle with a mastery score configured and when a score below mastery is then achieved by a learner, the course is given a status of ‘Failed’ which cannot subsequently be improved on. If it’s required that courses are marked as completed only after mastery is achieved, the following import method can be used:

  • Change .au mastery to null by removing the mastery_score integer from the .au file prior to importing AICC metadata. The player then sets a completion status based a Completion Threshold value. (For KNet this is not recommended as it results in the course not being able to be completed at all.)
  • Alternatively for CCA, e3 & Business Skills content disable pre-test and lesson level testing as in recommended player properties below and set INCREMENTAL_COURSE_SCORE=false. This ensures that the Player does not send back a score until an overall course post-test have been taken.

  SkillSim, NLS and KNet behave in this way by default.

  When a student doesn’t achieve mastery on a full post test, the course assessment result can then be correctly considered as Failed.

• Using default TPLMS player properties, course objectives progress is not tracked as expected for Business Skills content.

  This is because Moodle does not support AICC [Objectives_status]

  Workaround: In pageplayer.properties, set

  AICC CORE Lesson for Results=true
