Skill Benchmark Dashboard

The Skill Benchmark dashboard shows a visual summary of each particular skill tested by Skill Benchmarks. The data shown on this page uses the filters specified in the Skill Benchmark Overview dashboard. This dashboard is a sub-dashboard that can only be accessed from the Skill Benchmark Overview dashboard

Dashboard Insights

With this dashboard, you can gauge where your learners are on the proficiency spectrum and whether they improved. You can:

  • See how you might need to tailor programs based on results. If many users rank in the Novice category, you might consider assigning additional content for this skill. Conversely, if many learners score in the Proficient category and only a few score in Novice, you can tailor programs just for the Novice users.

  • See how each individual learner scored on the Skill Benchmark. If you assigned a Skill Benchmark to a group of learners, you may want to check how each one did.

  • Get insights into how learners are improving on that skill over time. Check to make sure that if a learner is retaking a benchmark, that their skills are actually improving.

Filters

You can set the following filters for this dashboard:

  • Date Range: Filters the data by a specified range of dates that you select from the drop-down list.
    • Start: Instead of using a Date Range preset, use this to specify a start date. When you enter a Start date, the Date Range Presets filter changes to Custom.
    • End: Instead of using a Date Range preset, use this to specify an end date. When you enter an End date, the Date Range Presets filter changes to Custom.
  • Audience: Predefined group of users. Enter the name of an audience and then select it from the list. You can display the data for multiple audiences at the same time by entering more than one audience name. You can select up to 20 audiences.
  • Benchmark by keyword: To narrow your focus to one or more specific benchmarks or group of benchmarks, enter keywords of benchmarks. Use this filter if you want to just review benchmarks on a particular subject such as java or python that may have many levels of skills to measure. The benchmarks you select here impact what you see on the rest of the page.
  • Inactive users: Select if you want to include inactive users in your counts. If you include inactive users, you may not get an accurate picture of your organization current skill levels specially if those inactive users left your company.

About this Dashboard

The areas of measurement on the dashboard are:

  • Content Type: Shows the type of benchmark.
  • Unique learners: Shows the number of unique users who completed – answered all the questions for – the selected skill benchmark at least once within the date specified.
  • Skill Level Distribution: Shows how many learners scored within each proficiency level for the selected Skill Benchmark within the date range specified. If a learner completed the benchmark more than once within the date range specified, only the best score is reported.
  • Skill Level Proficiency over time: Shows how many learners achieved a rank of proficient or higher on the skill benchmark over a period of time. It also shows you the percentage increase compared to the last data point.
  • Average Skill Level: Takes the average of all the best proficiency scores for each learner within the date range specified and shows it relative to the thresholds for the different proficiency levels.

Each topic covered by a skill benchmark has many questions associated with it. Each time the learner takes a skill benchmark, they may see a different question that addresses the topic. This ensures that they fully grasp the topics associated with the skill.

  • Benchmark Results: Shows specific details for each learner about their Skill Benchmark activity. You can download this portion of the dashboard. You can also organize columns to present the data in a way that makes the most sense for you.

By default the following columns are visible:

NOTE: If you are not able to see the user detail and best score columns, ask your admin for permissions.
