Expanding skills of your workforce
The items in this section provide ways to grow your talent and fill critical skill gaps, building mastery with confidence.
Role Advisor acts as a virtual, skill-building concierge when learners have a job role specified as part of their user profile. This release finds the following enhancements to Role Advisor:
- Role Advisor now shows in the learners selected site language. Previously, Role Advisor only showed for English users.
- The Top Picks strip, which recommends content for the learner’s job role based on content type, now shows interactive courses on the Courses tabs and interactive Skill Benchmarks on the Skill Benchmarks tab.
For more information about using Role Advisor, see Role Advisor.
When learners launch an interactive Skill Benchmark from within a journey, they are now directed to continue with the journey instead of being presented with additional learning recommendations. This aligns interactive Skill Benchmarks behavior to all Skill Benchmarks. The changes for the learner include:
- Journey controls are consistently visible above the interactive Skill Benchmark on the launch and results pages.
- On the results page, links in the question level details section are removed and the personalized path is omitted.
- A Continue Journey button is added to guide learners to the next asset in the journey, enhancing continuity.
When learners open the interactive Skill Benchmark outside a journey, the benchmark behaves as usual.
Manage, promote, and measure learning
The items in this section provide the tools you need to manage users and content, promote learning, and measure learning effectiveness on your bottom line.
With this release, you can now create and manage areas, subjects, journeys, and dynamic content in multiple languages without the need for an English-first setup. This update lets you tailor content to your learners' preferred languages right from the start, enhancing their learning experience and engagement and your administration. Key updates that support this feature include:
- The language selector component in the admin workflows for areas, subjects, journeys, and dynamic content has been updated to allow you to choose and remove English US as a localization option. If your site language is English, the default selection when creating an item is English, but you can now remove that selection and choose whichever languages you need.
- If you remove English from existing areas, subjects, journeys or dynamic content, you cannot restore it. You will have to recreate it to add it back.
- Learners will only see your item if their Percipio site language matches one of the languages defined for that item. The item will not display otherwise.
- If learners switch their site languages while viewing an area, subject, journey or dynamic content page, and no content exists in the newly selected language, learners see a message indicating the languages that are available for viewing. Learners can follow the link to a different language while staying in the site language selected.
- For dynamic content and journeys, learners can access them in assignments.
To help ensure compliance with your organization’s AI standards, you now have the ability to tailor both the frequency and content of the policy for CAISY. You can decide whether the policy displays only for first-time users or every time a learner launches a CAISY simulation. This flexibility empowers you to manage how often learners are reminded of the terms they need to accept, ensuring they adhere to your organization's guidelines.
Additionally, if your organization has specific policies, you can create custom policy text with links that get presented right below the standard CAISY policy, making sure learners are fully aware of any extra guidelines they need to follow.
You can also localize this custom policy to cater to multiple languages, creating a smooth experience for all users. You can find this new setting from Site Settings > Policy Management > Custom Policies.
For more details, please see the Policy Management.
When you add a custom Percipio user role, you can now select a base role of either learning admin or site admin as the foundation for the role. This update allows you to extend specific privileges originally exclusive to site admins to custom roles. After you save a custom role, you cannot change the base role.
For more details, please see Role Customization.
The Activity dashboard has been updated to reflect more accurate total views for courses. Previously, if a learner launched a video 5 times in the same session and that video was contained in two courses, each course would receive 5 views and the total Courses views would be 10. Now only the course the video is launched through will have an access, reducing the views from 10 to 1. In addition, if you launch the video through the video-only player, no courses will get an access.
For more information and examples, please see Activity Dashboard.
When you define permissions for a Percipio role such as a learning admin, content curator, or custom role, you now see a new permission in the Content Management section entitled: Manage content type and source values. When checked, this permissions allows someone who creates custom content to define new values for the Content type and Content source fields that are required when adding custom content. If you do not check this permission, users who create custom content can only select from a list of predefined Content types and Sources when adding custom content. This also applies when the admin attempts to import external learning using a CSV file.
Compliance, Ecosystems, and Integrations
The items in this section help you to integrate Percipio across your learning ecosystem and promote how Skillsoft works with its partners.
If you use an LMS in addition to Percipio, you can now bring dynamic content into your organization's LMS. Completions for both dynamic content and the courses within it are tracked back to your LMS. If you need to see learner's answers to the dynamic content profiler, you can download learner responses in Percipio.
Usability Enhancements
The items in this section show where we are making improvements to the interface for a better experience.
For companies that have the AI Assistant turned on, users now have access to their chat history if the following conditions are met:
- The site setting AI optimization and improvement is on
- The user privacy setting, Allow Skillsoft to collect, store, and analyze my conversations in order to improve the AI Assistant is on
When viewing chat history, the user can open previous conversations and re-engage where they left off. The AI Assistant titles each conversation based on the content covered and organizes it by date so it is easy for the user to find their past conversations.
For more details, please see AI Assistant.
With this release, learners find an enhanced search experience to help guide them to finding content more quickly. When learners click in the search box, they can immediately start typing as they do today, but now a drop down menu also displays showing:
- Popular Searches: Highlights trending content based on aggregated data from all users across Percipio sites. This helps learners discover trending topics and high-value items.
- Recent Searches: Shows previous search terms that the learner used. This provides continuity for learners where they can resume where they left off, whether they're re-evaluating or re-engaging with learning content, or completing a multi-step task.
With the rollout of the Admin Dashboard, you will no longer see the blue question mark icon in the bottom right of your screen. You can now see what's newly released, FAQs, best practices, and marketing templates right on your Admin dashboard home page.
