Browse the Library

You can browse the Library to view the learning content available to you. You can add content to your learning plan, or launch it directly from the browse results.

To browse the Library

1. At the top of the page, click Browse The Library.

   The Library displays.

2. Optionally, if you wish to see content in a different language other than your default, select a content language to browse.
3. Click the category you wish to browse (for example, Engineering).

   The Library Browse Results page displays your results, grouped by content type.

Once your results display, in the Refine By section of the results page, you can do any of the following:

• Search for specific terms within your category.
  1. Enter a search term in the Search from this point field.
  2. Click .

     The results page refreshes with the new results.

• Select a subcategory for a more content-targeted search (such as a specific area within a subject).
  1. On the left side of the results page, select a subcategory (for example, Engineering > Aerospace).
  2. Click Refine.

     The results page refreshes with the filtered results.

• Select one or more filters for a more personalised search (such as content within your learning plan, or assets recommended by your colleagues).
  1. On the left side of the results page, in the Refine By section, select one or more filters (such as Show items only in my Learning Plan).
  2. Click Refine.

     The results page refreshes with the filtered results.

Note: To view the results of a single asset type (for example, Books or Courses) click View All next to the appropriate asset heading.

Available Actions within the Library Browse Results

Depending on the content type, different actions are available within each result. Here are some of the most common; note this is not a complete list of possible actions:

• Details: Opens the content details page.
• Launch: Launches the content.
• Download: Downloads the content for offline use.

  Note: Courses download through the Skillsoft Course Manager (SCM). If you do not have SCM installed, a new window opens automatically and you are prompted to install it.

• Share: Opens the Share dialogue box, which displays the share options:
  • a direct URL of the content details page
  • code to embed the link to the content details page
  • a link to send an email containing the content's direct URL, ID and title.

• Save: Opens the Save to My Learning Plan dialogue box so that you can add the content directly to your learning plan.
