Journeys

Journeys are structured learning paths. Journeys contain one or more tracks, which contain all of the required learning content for a specific topic. A journey may also contain introductory or supporting resources as optional content to assist you. To complete a journey, you must complete each item within all of the tracks.

There are three kinds of journeys within Percipio:

Aspire Journeys are guided learning paths designed and published by Skillsoft. The learning path comprises tracks of content in a recommended order. Completing all content within a track, completes the track. Completing all tracks within the journey, completes the journey.
Custom journeys are guided learning paths that you create for your company using content published to Percipio including both Skillsoft and custom content.
Career Journeys are bundles of specially curated Aspire Journeys that contain additional content items ensuring you can retain and apply your new skills on the job. Some Career Journeys might have live courses, labs, and mentors, others might have test preps and projects, all have instructional variety and reporting to provide a scalable way to upskill in specific areas. Your admins can purchase a Career Journey as an add-on for an additional fee and then license it to a specific group of users.

Find and launch a journey

To find a journey using search:

Enter the topic of interest in the search bar and select Search.
From the Type filter on the left navigation, select Aspire journey. Both custom and Skillsoft journeys display in the results.
Select to open the journey you want to take. In some cases, your admin may require you to take the journey in a specified order. If that is the case, you will see a locked icon next to items you can't take until you complete the item before it.

To find a Skillsoft Aspire or Career Journey from the library:

Open the Library from the left navigation bar.
Find the box titled Follow a Guided Path to select from one of the Aspire Journey options. Find the box entitled Take the Next Step in Your Career to select an Agile Career Journey.
Select to open the journey you want to take.

Going through a journey

The way the journey was designed determines how it displays for you. In some cases, your admin may require you to take the journey in a specified order. If that is the case, you will see a locked icon next to items you can't take until you complete the item before it.

When you open a journey, you may see a message indicating that the journey is part of a learning program. A learning program is where you have a shared learning experience with others who are also enrolled in the program. Your administrator may automatically enroll you in a learning program and require you to complete it, or they may invite you to enroll in the learning program that you can choose to complete if you want. If you are invited to a learning program or discover a learning program configured for self enrollment, you must enroll to have that shared experience, however, you can complete a journey without enrolling in the learning program it is associate with.

To check if you are automatically enrolled or invited to enroll, select View Programs. On this page, you see all learning programs where this journey was added. You can review all the learning programs to decide if you want to enroll in one or complete the journey independently of the program.

Whether you open a journey on the journey page or through a learning program, you could see one of two display styles. The style you see is determined by how the journey was created.

With the Simple display style, you see the journey and all its tracks on a single page and single videos play inline, other content opens in its respective player. You can expand and collapse the tracks to show the content within them. You can see your progress through the track with the completion rings on the left.
With the Classic display style, you see the journey with its list of tracks on one page. When you select a track, it opens in a separate page and when selected, each content item opens in its own player. You can see your progress through the track with the completion rings on the right.

Completion certificates for completing a journey
