About Tests

Note: In the Test Editor, the Lesson pre-tests option, Practice Test option, For Dialogue Live button, and Add Graphic Choice button are disabled for Mobile and Desktop (.mprs) presentations.

Types of Test Questions

Tests can contain yes/no, single answer multiple-choice, multiple answer multiple-choice, or short answer questions.
Since a test is meant to test knowledge, you must specify the correct answer(s) when creating a test question.

The Structure of Tests

Each presentation can contain multiple tests and each test can contain multiple questions.
Each test can also contain notes that the Presenter will see if the test is conducted during a Dialogue Live session.

When Tests are Used

During a Dialogue Live session:
- Tests appear in the slide sequence as they were created in Dialogue Design, but the Presenter can navigate to and conduct a specific test at any time.
- During a test, results are reported in real-time to the session Presenter.
- At the conclusion of a test, the Presenter has the option of sharing and discussing the results with Participants.
- If a Participant entered the session through Skillport, his test results are reported back.
In a course created by Direct Publish:
- Tests appear as topic tests.
- Learners can navigate to and take them at any time using the Course Map.

Practice Tests

The scores for practice tests are not reported to the Learning Management System (LMS). Unlike topic tests, pre-tests, and post-tests that appear only at the beginning or end of a topic, practice tests can appear anywhere in the on-demand course.

Publishing Presentations with Tests

Only one test is supported per topic in a presentation. However, there can be any number of practice tests in a topic. Any number of scored or practice tests are supported per topic in Dialogue Live.

Saving and Reusing Tests

Tests can be exported and saved as separate files.
You can reuse these test files in other presentations or in other places in the same presentation.

Tests and polls are similar to some extent but differ in several important ways:
