Embedded Videos

In some instances, the Skillsoft Advantage Learning Tracks allow you to embed a video directly into the page as opposed to creating a link to the video. When an embedded video is launched from Global Preview or the Portal, the video plays directly in the containing page. When a video that is not embedded is launched from Global Preview or the Portal, the video displays in a separate MML viewer.

This option is only available when adding new videos to an Overlay. Existing videos cannot be modified to take advantage of this feature. However, you can hide the existing block or element containing the video and then re-add the video in order to choose this option.
When adding an embedded video you must use your own image. A "Play" button will automatically display in the center of the image.
In Skillsoft Leadership Advantage 1 packages, embedded videos can be added to Section, Summary, and Challenge pages, as well as the Getting Started page.
In Skillsoft Advantage 2 packages, embedded videos can be added to any block that lists Video Link in the Add Item dialog.

To embed a video:

In the Outline pane select the desired block.
In the Design pane, locate the ordered list and click Add.
In the Add New Item dialog click the drop-down button and select Video Link.
Click OK. A Video Link is added at the end of the list.
Complete the Reference and Tool Tip fields as desired.
For the Display as options select Embedded or Embedded with Text.
Click Yes in the informational message that displays. The Embedded with Text fields display, as shown above.
Complete all fields as desired. See Element Fields for a description of each field.
By default, the information in the Text Display as field will display below the video image. To switch this option and display the text above the image, select Display Text to the top of the video.
