Adding Instructors

Maintaining a list of instructors allows you to select an instructor from a prepopulated list when you create a live course. Assigning an instructor to a course allows them to manage the class roster and enter completions.

Each instructor to manage a roster must have a Percipio user account with instructor privileges. This user consumes a Percipio license upon signing in.

Note: If you do not want the person teaching the class to have a Percipio user account, add their name to the Additional Information field when creating your live course.

To add an instructor to the list:

  1. From the Content menu, select Live Course (ILT).
  2. Click Manage location and instructors.
  3. Click the Instructors tab. It lists all users who have a Percipio account with instructor privileges.

  4. Click Add new instructor. Two tabs display, one for assigning the instructor privilege to existing users and one for adding new users to Percipio.

Assigning instructor privileges to existing users

  1. From the Search Existing Percipio Users tab, type the name of one or more users.
  2. Select each name from the list.
  3. Click Save and Add to assign the instructor privilege to each user. Each user gets added to the instructor list.

Adding new users to Percipio

If the person does not have a user account, the name does not appear as you type in the Search Existing Percipio Users. You must create a user account to add this instructor.

  1. From the Add new Percipio User tab click Add new user. A new browser tab opens for you to create a new user account.
  2. Note: If you do not have permissions to add a new user, Percipio prompts you to reach out to you site administrator.
  3. Follow the instructions for creating a new user ensuring you select the Assign Live Course Instructor privileges option.
  4. After you add the new instructor, you can close the New User browser tab and return to the Instructor browser tab.
