Delete a Team Automation Rule

When you delete a team automation rule, you can also choose to delete all audiences created by that rule. When you delete a rule, you can't reinstate it. If you are not sure you want to delete a rule, you can choose to pause the automation instead.

To delete a team automation rule

  1. From the left navigation bar, select Users > Audience Management.
  2. Select Team Automation. The Team Automation page displays.
  3. Locate the rule you wish to delete.
  4. Select the More actions menu actions menu icon, gray elipse and then delete icon, trash can Delete automation. A confirmation message displays.
  5. Choose whether to keep the audiences created by the rule or delete all audiences created by the rule.
    • If you choose to keep all audiences, they become a regular audience that you can edit or delete individually as required. The audience retains its owners and all associations for assignments, promotions, and content.
    • If you choose to delete all audiences created by the rule, learners may experience changes in what they see in Percipio. This happens when an audience is removed that was associated with an assignment, specific content, or a promotion.
  6. To delete the rule, select Yes, delete automation rule. If you chose to delete all audiences, you must keep the dialog box open until all audiences are deleted otherwise the process does not finish.

Considerations

If you add a team automation rule with the same prefix criteria as used previously and audiences with that prefix still exist, these original audiences remain as individual audiences and the new rule creates new audiences with the number 1 appended.

For example: Consider the following scenario:
  1. You created a team automation rule that used the list user attribute Department and the prefix of Dept. When Percipio ran this automation rule, the following audiences were created: Dept Finance, Dept Marketing, Dept Sales, etc.
  2. You delete the automation rule, but keep the audiences.
  3. You realize you need that rule so you create a new automation rule using the same list user attribute Department and the same prefix of Dept. When Percipio runs the automation rule, the following audiences would be created: Dept Finance-1, Dept Marketing-1, Dept Sales-1, etc.
