Skillsoft's Open Learning Services Architecture (OLSA) Web Services provide the ability to execute specific SkillPort functions without having to manually log in to SkillPort. These functions include but are not limited to user account creation and management, single sign-on, course launch and progress reporting.
Suggested Technical Requirements
The following background knowledge and experience is recommended for uers of the BCS application:
Knowledge of a server-side, web service-compatible programming language, such as Java, C#, PHP, .NET, and so on
Knowledge of your web server environment, for example, J2EE, ColdFusion, IIS, Apache Tomcat, and so on
Previous experience working with third-party web APIs and web services
Ability to use HTTP and network trace tools for debugging
Ability to read and process XML information from SOAP messages
Knowledge of development tools necessary to build and deploy web-based web services applications, for example, Visual Studio, Eclipse, and so on
