Skillsoft Books & Video Content

Skillsoft Books & Video content allows users to link to a Skillsoft platform to access books and videos directly.

There are three approaches to adding Skillsoft Books & Video Content:

• Skillsoft Books & Videos Portal: This allows users to launch the Skillsoft Books & Videos Portal where they can search and browse any of the Skillsoft Books & Videos content assigned to them.
• Skillsoft Books & Videos Portal - Specific Catalog Folder from Browse View: This type allows users to launch the Skillsoft Books & Videos Portal directly into a specific Catalog Folder from a Browse View. This folder contains all the associated Skillsoft Books & Videos content. Users can still search and browse any of the Skillsoft Books & Videos content assigned to them.
• Skillsoft Books & Videos Portal - Specific Book or Video: This type allows users to launch directly into a specific Skillsoft Book or Video. Users are not able to search and browse any other Skillsoft Books & Videos content assigned to them.

This content type is passive and never has an assessment.

The content returns data to the LMS including the status, and length of time the user spends in the content. These values are fixed and are the same every time the item is launched.

The data sent to the LMS is never a true representation of the state of the passive content. The fixed values are returned to ensure compliance with the SCORM 1.2 standards.

Completion Criteria

As this content is passive, the content will never return a status other than the value fixed on the Skillsoft servers as requested by the customer.

Even if the value for status is set to COMPLETE, the status is sent immediately on launch of the content from the LMS.
