Skillport 8 Patch 22 (8.0.3362) July 2014

Changes and Modifications:

  • A new SKP parameter, enable_java_free_content, has been added to control the display of Java-free content in Skillport. The settings are as follows:
    • 0 (Disabled): Both Java-free and Java-dependent content is visible to learners.
    • 1 (Enabled): Java-dependent content, that has not been previously assigned, is hidden from learners, and Java-dependent content displays in the Skillport Administrator with a Java icon.
    • 2 (Highlight only): Java-dependent content displays in the Skillport Administrator with a Java icon, but Java-dependent content is not hidden from learners.
  • The file upload functionality in Skillport was updated so that it no longer uses a Java applet and is now Java free. In addition, the minimum image file size you can upload has increased to 5 MB.

Bug Fixes:

Batch Add/Update

  • Company Administrators no longer receive an error message when executing a group batch update. (CR 163857)
  • ILT_Admin_Priv and ILT_Session_Instructor_Priv can be added when running an Add User Batch command. (CR 163943)
  • Users' accounts are no longer consistently becoming de-linked. (CR 165031)
  • When a batch add file has a trailing space in a user ID, the record no longer fails to update. (CR 166334)

Books/Courses/Videos

  • Launching a book or video now registers the user with only the collection the book or video is in, instead of all collections to which the learner is entitled. (CR 164599)
  • All courses contained in a Learning Program are now displaying correctly. (CR 164602)
  • While launching a custom SCORM 1.2 course, the learner no longer receives the error: Your session has lost its connection with the Learning Management System (LMS). (CR 165159)
  • Learners can now access courses from share links created in a Skillport 7.3 environment. (CR 167077)
  • Attempting to launch some courses no longer produces an error. (CR 167575)
  • After upgrading to Skillport 8, AICC courses hosted in Skillport now launch. (CR 167809)

Community

  • You can now successfully remove Social Community Administrators from the community. (CR 164062)

Display

  • When browsing the Library, the left side menu is now consistent with the page content. (CR 164251)
  • Site navigation no longer becomes so slow that learners cannot access the site, and the following error message no longer displays: The application has encountered an error. Please try some time later or contact your training manager. (CR 164666)
  • Administrators can now change the color of the Copyright message on the login page. (CR 165393)
  • Completed Learning Programs now show "View Certificate" under More Actions. (CR 165673)
  • PMP and CAPM certification descriptions now display correctly. (CR 165780)
  • Contents on the default landing page are rendering correctly. (CR 165890)

Instructor Led Training

  • Enrollment notification emails with Session Notes now correctly include line breaks. (CR 163460)
  • The number of events displayed in the Upcoming Events section is no longer inconsistent with the number of events that display on the Schedule. (CR 163852)
  • Withdrawal notification emails now include the Calendar attachment that removes the Calendar entry. (CR 163941)
  • Localized ILT courses are now appearing under the correct language. (CR 164371)
  • Administrators are now able to generate an ILT Event Journal Report for enrollments for all desired dates. (CR 165079)
  • ILT session details are no longer cut off when accessed with IE 8. (CR 165221)
  • Different users no longer get application errors with different ILT certificates of completion. (CR 165676)
  • Creating a new contact in the ILT Resource Manager no longer produces the error: TypeError: Cannot read property 'parentIdentifier' of null. (CRs 166195, 166561)
  • Completed sessions and courses are now correctly showing as "In Progress." (CRs 167369, 167662)

Learner Transcripts / Course Completions

  • All courses are now showing the completion date in Skillport for all users. (CR 164846)
  • Learners can now view and print certificates of completion from Learner Transcripts. (CR 164925)
  • Clicking Learning Transcripts from the Quick Links menu no longer displays a Fatal Database error. (CR 166676)
  • Filtering courses by a completed status no longer prevents in-progress courses from displaying. (CR 166668)
  • The Started filter is no longer missing from the Status drop down menu. (CR 166679)
  • Completed courses now display First Access, Last Access, and Completion dates in the Learner Transcript and in Reporting. (CR 167144)
  • Learners can no longer print certificates for courses that have not been completed. (CR 167222, 167014, 167305)
  • Student progress for completed courses is now showing as complete. (CR 167510)

Learning Plan

  • Learners can now remove content from their Learning Plan. (CRs 158155, 167437)

Library

  • Administrators accessing Library > Certification > Training Credits no longer see a second PDU filter. (CR 163735)
  • Published folders can now be assigned to learners. (CR 165351)
  • Learners no longer report latency issues when logging in, attempting to browse the Library, and launching Business Skills. (CR 166296)

Notifications

  • The option for Administrators to send a Welcome email from a user's profile is now available when the site language is set to languages other than English US. (CR 165032)

OLSA / BCS

  • For OLSA users, the Skillsoft Course Player no longer fails to connect with the Learning Management System. (CR 166568)

Reporting

  • The Library Details report no longer displays books that are inaccessible to learners. (CR 161190)
  • When saving content evaluation reports to PDF, the reports no longer have blank pages in between the data. (CR 162655)
  • There are no longer discrepancies in Actual Durations between various reports. (CR 163450)
  • Reporting results no longer return data from one day prior to the date specified. (CR 163569, 167139)
  • The Matrix by Learning Program report no longer displays a warning message. (CR 163904)
  • When editing a scheduled report, the list of email recipients is now persistent. (CR 164248)
  • The Learning Program Detailed report now returns results for all display options for which data exists. (CR 164927)
  • A spelling error in the ILT Course and Sessions template description has been corrected. (CR 165386)
  • Running reports intermittently produces an error similar to the following: Error Processing Rendered Data: The CSV appears to be corrupt near record '7875' field 2. (CRs 167142, 167764)

Search

  • Some learners saw a script error when running a search; this issue is resolved. (CR 163358)

Self-Registration

  • The Tab key now successfully navigates to all items on the Self-Register page. (CR 145575)

Users and Groups

  • Administrators can delete a user from the site without receiving the error: Invalid private sandbox. (CR 164151)
  • Administrators can search for users on the Membership > Copy/Move Users page. (CR 165078)
  • Learners updating their security question no longer get the error Enter a valid password. (CR 165275)
  • Users attempting to use the Forgot Password option no longer see the Freemarker template error. (CR 165883)
  • When migrating to a Skillport 8 site, special characters within the Display First Name field now display correctly. (CR 165960)
  • Administrators no longer receive an error when editing a user's group membership. (CRs 166234, 166917)
  • Learners are no longer unlinked from their group assignments, and can access content. (CR 166066)
  • Learners are now automatically receiving inherited enrollment/assignments from their parent group. (CR 166298)
  • Assignment Groups no longer lose their inherited enrollments to Learning Programs. (CR 166567)
  • When viewing user information, the user's email address now displays properly in the User Info tab. (CR 164735, 165782, 167314)
