The Question Set template provides the capability to present a grouping of practice or test questions on related content. Most often, the content covered by a Question Set template is covered in a topic, or in a learning point within a topic. Question sets are scored and recorded in the player. Question sets can be used in practice and test modes, and in Exercise topics. Each question stands alone, with its own stem or lead-in. The individual questions are connected through the content covered by a single objective. The SkillSoft Course Player adds the Question header to the base page.
Note: The questions included in this template must align with either an enabling or terminal objective. Question sets cannot be used as questions imbedded within a Case Study template.
Elements of a Question Set
The introduction to the question set outlines the goal of the question set. The prompt instructs the learner on how to perform the question set, and the remainder of the question set comprises a set of questions that the learner answers. Each individual question must relate directly to the question set's objective or task.
Question Sets in the Player
Question sets use radial navigation; the learner begins on a base page that contains an introduction, prompt, and question buttons. From this page, the learner clicks the question buttons to move to and answer a series of questions. The learner may return to the base page at any stage of a question. Any answers entered are stored until the learner returns.
Scoring in Question Sets
Questions presented in the Question Set template are evaluated and/or scored individually.
Practice Mode
In Practice mode, Correct, Incorrect, or Partially Correct evaluative feedback is displayed along with any other instructional feedback as soon as a learner completes a question. There is no score recorded.
Test Mode
When used in Test mode, the individual scores from each question are averaged to create the final score for the entire Question Set. This approach provides the ability for a learner to be evaluated on one of the following:
