Convert any .wav files you recorded in the proper .wav format to .mp4 format. To do so, use any audio file conversion software capable of batch converting. Skillsoft suggests using Adobe Media Encoder or Sony Sound Forge.
Prior to converting your source .wav files to .mp4 format, ensure they are in the following format to avoid playback issues:
Note: After converting your audio files to .mp4 format, you must manually copy them into your course folder. See Add MP4 Audio Files to a Course for details.
Use the following recommended settings for the audio file conversion. Note that these settings are specific to Adobe Media Encoder; depending on the software you use, these settings may differ.
Recommended MP4 Audio Encoding Settings
Note: Some conversion software processes the files as stereo. This reduces the audio quality because it encodes two channels of audio (stereo) as opposed to one (mono). For example, Sound Forge converts to stereo by default and does not have an option for mono only.
Note: Some conversion software uses the alternative .m4a file extension; this must be changed (using a batch file-renaming program) to .mp4 to avoid potential playback issues.
