SCM Configuration

OCM.ini

To customize the parameters of the SCM installation, set the properties of the ocm.ini file that resides on the server to the desired values. Use the Properties Tool to make the necessary changes. This file is downloaded with the SCM client.

• Both the LMS_AICC_VERSION property in the pageplayer.properties file and the DEFAULT_AICC_VERSION property in the OCM.ini file must have the same value for the SCM to communicate correctly.
• For https support in SCM, you must set LMS_SECURE_CONNECTION=true in all instances of the ocm.ini file.

Install.properties

To customize the SCM client download installation, edit all instances of the file:
[Installation Directory]\web\client\..\Install.properties

Note: Any customizations you make in the Install.properties file must be redone any time you reinstall or upgrade the SCM on the server, since there is no property file merge feature to preserve Install.properties customizations automatically.

SkillPort

• If the SCM is installed to a SkillPort installation, it is strongly recommended that you set VALIDATE_SCM_LOGIN=true in all instances of the ocm.ini file. When this property is true, users who download the SCM from SkillPort are required to log into the local SCM with the same user ID they used in SkillPort. This is required in order for their SCM results to be synchronized with SkillPort.
• Set the scmurl parameter in the master_parameters table to the directory where the SCM is installed. This ensures that the SCM installation on user workstations will automatically update the software from the current server location when the SCM is upgraded.
• Set the System|Web Site Switches|Enable SCM Updates option to No in SkillPort to turn off system maintenance update checks. SCM still updates if this option is disabled and the scmurl parameter is used.

  Note: The scmurl parameter and the Enable SCM Updates options cannot be used together.
