New Features and Enhancements as of March 10, 2026
AI Updates
The items in this section highlight changes to AI elements in the platform so you can stay in compliance with your internal processes and guidelines.
When you allow Skillsoft to collect the learner side of the conversation during a CAISY interaction, you now have the ability to set how long Skillsoft retains that data. When AI optimization and improvements setting is on, by default, Skillsoft retains the data for 180 days. You now have the option to reduce it to 30, 60, or 90 days.
Please note that if you do shorten the retention period, you may limit our ability to improve AI feedback and accuracy and learners only see their conversation history for that retention period.
When learners upload certification files AI will automatically capture certification details and confirm that the uploaded file represents a professional certification, avoiding reliance on manual entry and improving accuracy and consistency at the point of submission.
Learners can review and adjust the extracted information before submitting. This enhancement gives managers and HR greater confidence in the validity of uploaded certifications while ensuring more complete and representative certification reporting.
We will soon be updating our AI models for two Aspire journeys, Learn Python with AI and AI-Assisted Front End Development. In these journeys, learners use Codex CLI as development partners—mastering Python fundamentals or front-end development with React while building the critical evaluation skills needed to review and improve AI-generated code. It is this interaction with Codex that will be updating models. All other Codecademy AI interactions remain on the current model, including the Codecademy AI Assistant.
Learners are not likely to notice any changes when interacting with these journeys except that the new model number will display.
This update is part of our commitment to staying current with the latest advancements in AI technology, ensuring that we continue to provide you with the best possible security and user experience. If you require additional information, please reach out to your Skillsoft account team.
In our latest Aspire journey, Build Applications with LangChain and LangGraph, your learners will have the chance to experience text embedding models alongside other AI offerings, such as the AI Assistant and Codex.
You automatically get this new journey with your Technology and Developer Skills Suite. You must have AI content enabled on your site and the collection entitled in order for learners to be able to see it.
Manage, promote, and measure learning
The items in this section provide the tools you need to manage users and content, promote learning, and measure learning effectiveness on your bottom line.
With this release, eligible Skillsoft courses (including compliance courses) and book reviews that are approaching retirement—or were retired within the last 365 days—can be extended by up to one year beyond the original Skillsoft retirement date. This allows you to keep content available when it’s still actively used in assignments, journeys, or learning programs, while maintaining alignment with Skillsoft’s content lifecycle.
If you choose to extend retirement dates especially for Skillsoft compliance courses, you run the risk that your learners are training on outdated content, and if you continue to use the retired course in your learning programs, you may be out of compliance.
You can extend or undo a retirement extension from the new Manage retirement date option under the Content menu. This option helps you balance continuity for learners with timely transitions to newer content.
Analytics Updates
The items in this section showcase changes to reports and dashboards to help you more effectively and efficiently manage your programs.
When you access the Learner Activity report you will soon see a new interface. This new interface uses the filtering all under one drop down. You also can sort and filter by columns and choose which columns to display. The data in the report remains the same and the report still shows the latest data for the last year. For learner data older than one year, use the Detailed Activity report.
If you are using API's to integrate with the Learner Activity report, to avoid any disruption, you can continue to use the current API endpoint for integrations you have already set up.
To avoid any disruption in reporting integration, please advise that the column labeled Child content is being renamed to Consumed in Course. This change impacts the Learner Activity, Detailed Activity, and Internal and External Activity reports. This column is off by default.
This name change helps you better distinguish how learners launched the content, either from within the course or independently in the separate player.
Engaging your learners to build a learning culture
The items in this section provide ways to engage your users so they want to learn and make learning a habit.
With this update, you can add an email address that learners can reply to when they receive a custom email campaign. By default, learners can reply to the name specified in the from email address you specified in Email & Notifications > Settings > Email Settings > Alternate email address. If you did not set an alternate email address, learners cannot reply to custom email campaigns because they come from no-reply@percipio.com.
With this change, you can provide a more personalized touch that can enhance engagement with your audience.
To help engage managers to act and promote a culture of learning, they can now earn XP when they create a report schedule.
By default, managers will earn 50 XP for the first scheduled report and 10 XP for additional reports within a week's time. You can change this setting from Site Settings > Engagement > XP (Experience Points.
Reminders
The items in this section have previously been mentioned in release notes, but wanted to extend the notification to ensure you see it.
Coming soon, learners will see a new search filter called Personalized search. When they turn it on, they will see more relevant and meaningful search results tailored to their specific job role. The new filter will retrieve up to 60 search results based on the learner’s search query and will re-rank them using an LLM that takes into consideration the learner's job role context. The re-ranked results ensure that higher-quality, role-relevant items display at the top, improving engagement and learning outcomes. Note that personalization affects the ranking of search results, not their visibility.
With this release, you will see a new admin setting, Enable personalized search, that will be on by default. Before the feature goes live for learners, you can choose to disable the Personalized Search feature for your organization. We recommend that you keep it on to help ensure learners see the most relevant content for their needs.
You can locate the new setting at: Site settings > Site Configuration > AI Settings > Personalized search
Page Builder
The items in this section pertain to Page Builder, which is a feature that allows admins to create customized landing pages for their learners. Speak to your Skillsoft account team if you are interested in this feature.
In this release:
- Control who edits pages: Admins can now control who can edit a page. You can switch between public and private at any time.
- Public: Any admin with permission to access Page Builder can edit the page.
- Private: Only selected admins (collaborators) can edit the page. If a page is set to private, admins who are not added as collaborators will not see the page in their Page Builder list.
- Target who can view the page: When you publish a page, you can select one or more audiences who should see the page. Only learners in the selected audiences can access the page and see it on the left navigation (if enabled). When you associate an audience with a page, you do it at the parent page level and it automatically applies to all child pages.
- Set a default home page (per audience): For selected audiences, you can choose to set a page as the default home page. Each audience can have only 1 page mapped as the default home page. If a learner belongs to multiple audiences with different home pages, they will see the page with the earliest association date.
- Add a personalized dynamic text block: A new dynamic text block lets you personalize content with the learner’s name.
- Add banners and promoted strips: You can now insert existing banners and promotional strips directly into your pages. This is great for spotlighting key initiatives or timely programs.
- Add up to 4 types of dynamic strips:
You can now add up to four dynamic strips and configure them where applicable:
- Top Picks for Role: This strip auto-populates with content based on the learner’s role. You can configure the number of items shown.
- Top Picks for Skills: This strip shows content based on the learner’s selected skill interests. You can configure the number of skills and items per tab.
- Recommendations for You: This strip shows tabs for Recent Learning and Top Rated Collections. You can configure tabs and item counts.
- My Learning Widget: This strip shows a quick progress summary for assignments, programs, role learning, live learning, flashcards, goals, benchmarks. You can configure which tabs show.
- Add animations: Using the image block, you can now add animated GIFs to give your page some more personality and character. Use sparingly so as not to overwhelm your learners.
