SkillPort User Interface

The SkillPort user interface is designed to provide quick and easy access to available learning resources and your personalised plan.

There are five main areas of the user interface:

• Top toolbar: Provides links for updating your profile, accessing Help and logging out.
• Top links: Provides links for accessing the SkillPort home page and, if enabled, Books24x7. Your SkillPort site might also contain custom links to access other sites.
• SEARCH&LEARN™ panel: Allows you to search the SkillPort catalogue and the Books24x7 concurrently for learning assets, such as courses, books and exams. For more information, see Use SEARCH&LEARN.
• Left navigation panel: Provides one-click access to the following:

  MY PLAN

  Create a customized plan to address specific development goals and keep track of frequently accessed learning assets. With a single click, you can quickly return to them in the MY PLAN area of the SkillPort user interface. Organize and view your learning assets according to your preference: by due date, by type of asset or in custom folders. For more information, see View Learning Assets in MY PLAN.

  MY PROGRESS

  Review both completed and in-progress learning assets in the MY PROGRESS area of the SkillPort user interface. Quickly create print reports on your learning history and certificates of completion. For more information, see View MY PROGRESS.

  CATALOGUE

  SkillPort learning assets are organised into a CATALOGUE of curricula that keep related assets together. Assets can be organised in several ways, for example, by subject matter, related professional certification, or as learning programmes. The SkillPort CATALOGUE can contain thousands of learning assets depending on your organisation and what is made available to you.

  Certification Curricula

  SkillSoft's IT skills and business skills libraries offer content mappings to the professional certification programmes of a number of vendors, including Microsoft, Cisco and CompTIA.

  The certification curricula folders in the CATALOGUE allow you to see SkillSoft's content organised as business certifications, IT end user certifications and IT professional certifications. Within these categories, the content is organised by vendor certification and by vendor exam. You can use it to easily pinpoint the available content that will help you prepare for a certification. Certification curricula folders also offer brief summaries of the required and elective portions of each certification, enabling you to determine where to most appropriately direct your efforts.
